Karen L. (Keel) Jackson, age 54, of Union City, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 8:53 AM at her residence. She was born on August 12, 1958 in Fox River, Illinois, to Jewel Ezra (Wright) Keel of Union City, Ohio, and the late Noah Bryan Keel Jr.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her siblings, Noah “Chuck” & Shree Keel of St. Mary’s, Ohio; Phillip R. & Glenna Keel of Radcliff, Kentucky; Janice & Terry Byrd of Byrdstown, Tennessee; Linda Stewart of Union City, Indiana; Michael & Becky Keel of Saratoga, Indiana; Debra McCubbin of Greenville; Robert & Cindy Keel of Union City, Ohio, and Jerry Keel of Union City, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; step daughters, Brandy and Dee Dee; 4 step grandchildren; and special friend Francis Rose of Union City, Ohio.
Karen was an animal lover and worked at an Animal Shelter in Texas and was a member of the Community Fellowship Church in Union City, Indiana.
She is preceded in death by her father and first husband Mark Thornburg.
There will be a Memorial Service held on Thursday April 25, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Community Fellowship Church, 1051 North Jackson Pike, Union City, Indiana, with Pastor Roger Garland Officiating. Private Burial will be in the Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester, Indiana. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. It is the wish of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
