Delbert J. Grilliot (April 21, 2013)

Delbert J. Grilliot age 90 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:00 P.M. Sunday April 21, 2013 at the Oakley House of Greenville. He was born January 15, 1923 in Shelby County Ohio and the son of the late Otto and Magdalene (Barhorst) Grilliot.

Delbert was the original owner of Grilliot Alignment for 47 years and was a Veteran of WW II serving in the Army.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Greenville, Knights of Columbus of Versailles, the Greenville Elks Lodge and enjoyed playing golf, cards, dancing and bingo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Ida (Seger) Grilliot in 1991; second wife Wilda M. (Kendall) “Blumenstock” Grilliot in 2005; brothers Cleo Grilliot and Mark Grilliot; and sister Mary Lou Monnin.

Delbert is survived by his son Ron Grilliot of Greenville; daughter Peg Grilliot of Columbia, SC and daughter and son in law Deborah Grilliot Reeves and Michael Reeves of Avon, IN; grandchildren Tracy Grilliot and Eli Edwards of Seattle, WA, Brent and Jamie Grilliot of Fairborn, Jill Megan Grilliot of Carrollton, GA and Mikayla Benge of Avon, IN; great grandchild Mia Grilliot, Luke Grilliot and Owen Grilliot Edwards; brothers and sisters in law Purcell and Louise Grilliot of Versailles and Anthony (Tony) and Marita Grilliot of Celina; sisters and brothers in law Dolores Siegrist of Ft. Recovery, Elaine Berger, and Anna Schmitz both of Versailles, Henrietta and Thomas Winner of Osgood and sister in law Jeanette Grilliot of Beaver Creek.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday April 25, 2013 in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Father John R. White officiating. Burial with Military Honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard will be held at the St. Valbert Cemetery Versailles, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to Hospice of Darke County.
