Richard O. "Ricky" Childers, 22, of Greenville, passed away early Saturday morning, April 20, 2013, in the emergency room of Grandview Hospital in Dayton after a lengthy illness.
He was born October 25, 1990, in Daytona Beach, Florida, son of Kathy Lovejoy of Greenville and the late Russell Childers. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Brumbaugh.
Ricky was a 2008 graduate of Ansonia High School. An avid gamer, he loved to play games on the X-Box, computer, cell phone, or any other media.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters, Angela Clark, Sarah Lovejoy, Chelsea Waldon, and Cristen Waldon; brother, Russell Childers; grandmother, Pam Brumbaugh; grandfather and grandmother, Jack and Juanita Lovejoy; and numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
Private burial will take place at a later date in the Ansonia Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be given to help defray final expenses.
