Rev. Avore is survived by his wife, Thelma D. Avore whom he married July 24, 1972; children, Pamela D. Baker & husband, Terry of London, Kentucky, Joel D. Avore & wife, Karen of Greenville and Pastor Donald J. Avore II & wife, Raquel of York, South Carolina; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert L. Avore of Valrico, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rev. Avore was a minister for 35 years and a Real Estate Broker in Darke County. Rev. Avore was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville and the National Association of Realtors.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Trinity Wesleyan Church 1400 East Main Street Greenville with Pastor Bob Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville or State of the Heart Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
