Mabel B. Bruner (April 1, 1915 - May 23, 2009)

Mrs. Mabel B. Bruner, 94, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 7:47 AM at Wayne Hospital, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on April 1, 1915 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Samuel William & Sarah Estella (Lutz) Cook.

She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. They lived east of Rossburg, Ohio for over 50 years. She was formerly a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren where she taught kindergarten class for about 15 years, a secretary for all Sunday school classes, secretary and treasurer for her Sunday school class and was past deacon at the church. She is now a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren. She moved to the Brethren Retirement Community on October 30, 1990 where she was a member of the Brethren Home Wonderetts Clowns, a secretary and treasurer of the ladies Aid of the Brethren Home and well as numerous volunteer work.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; her husband, Harry M. Bruner; brothers, Clarence, Elmer, George, Arthur and Edward Cook; sisters, Edna Hawes, Freda Pepple and Hazel.

She is survived by; son and daughter in law, Eldon & Phylis Bruner of Huntington, IN; grandson, Timothy (Cami) Bruner; great grandchildren, Skyler Bruner as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community Chapel, 750 Chestnut St., Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Newcomer Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville.
