Mrs. Betty J. Harris, age 86 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday May 22, 2009 at 9:45 AM at Wayne Hospital, Greenville, Ohio. She was born August 28, 1922 in Darke County, Ohio the daughter of the late Frank & Anna (Whittaker) Leas. She worked for the production line at Fram for 25 years retiring in 1976. She was a member of EUM Church in Greenville.She is preceded in death by her parents; Daughter in law: Vickie J. Harris; Brother: Robert Leas.
She is survived by her husband: Harold N. “Newt” Harris of Greenville whom she married December 14, 1940; Sons & daughter in law: Thomas L. & Kay Harris of Farmersville, Ohio, William F. Harris of Greenville; Grandchildren & spouses: Tracy & Bruce Roach of Indianapolis, Indiana, Thomas & Stephanie Harris Jr. of Covington; Great grandchildren: James & Victoria Roach, Kyle & Levi Harris; Brother: Don Leas of Greenville; Sister & brother in law: Ellen & David Peck of Colorado Springs, Colorado; & numerous nieces & nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday May 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Sylvia McKibben & Pastor Dale Boeger officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Jefferson, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday May 26, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
