Mrs. Willie Lyde Delaplane, 84, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on May 21, 2009 at 12:10 PM at the Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. She was born on December 15, 1924 in Brownsville, Tennessee to the late Melvin & Ruth (Sutton) Halcom as well as a step father Thomas Pounds.
Willie was a homemaker, a former member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenville and is currently a member at the Ft. Jefferson United Methodist Church in Ft. Jefferson, Ohio.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Delaplane and Grandson, Zachary Beatty and Great Grandson, Linus Beatty.
She is survived by her sons & daughters in law; Joseph T. & Shirley Delaplane of Greenville and Donald E. & Diane Delaplane of Greenville, daughter and son in law; Patricia Ann & Joseph Beatty of Houston, Texas, grandchildren; Jeb (Joanna) Beatty, Matthew Delaplane, Elizabeth (David) Klaus, Sarah (Brad Allen) Delaplane, Doug Delaplane, and Danielle (Anup) Patel, great grandson; Ian Patel.
There will be a graveside service held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Rt. 121 South, Ft. Jefferson, Ohio with the Pastor Doug Baker officiating. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
Memorial contributions can be made to the State of the Heart Hospice or to the Ft. Jefferson United Methodist Church.
