Destiny M. Longenecker, 18, of Greenville, Ohio, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, from a train-pedestrian accident in Union City, OH.
She was the daughter of her father, David L. (friend, Sandy Thaxton) Abels of Mendon, OH, mother, Roxanne M. (friend, Scotty Yoder) Longenecker of Greenville, step-parents, Bill Fields (friend, Susie Carrington) of Greenville.
She was a senior at Greenville High School.
She is also survived by her grandparents, Mary Abels of Lima, OH, Tom Longenecker of Greenville, and Nancy Apple of Dayton; brothers & sister, Anthony Abels of Mendon, OH, Dave Abels of Ft. Recovery, Sarah Burwinkel of Columbus, OH), Scotty Yoder of Ansonia; step-brothers & sister, Jason & Mandy Swisher of Rossburg, OH, Chris & Mike Carrington, both of Greenville; special nephew, William Swisher; boyfriend, Cody Griffin of Union City, OH; and many other family, friends and loved ones.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 12:00 PM at the Triumphant Christian Center, 1129 S. Town Ct., Greenville, OH, with Pastor Jason Black, officiating.
Friends may call at the church from 10:00 to 12:00. The family request memorial contributions be given to the Destiny Longenecker Memorial Fund at Mercer Savings Bank.
