Nell G. McVay, 89 of Southaven, Mississippi & formerly of Greenville, Ohio, died at the Landmark Nursing Home in Horn Lake, Mississippi where she was recovering from a fall at her son’s home where she had resided for the past 11 years. She was born in Greenville on November 14, 1919, where she and her deceased husband William C. McVay owned and operated McVay’s Newsstand and Gift Shop. She also worked at the Smart Shop and Bratemans.
In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra K. Miller and a son, Michael C. McVay. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, William A. & Shirley McVay; granddaughter, Christina K. McVay; and step-grandsons, Christopher & Eric Daugherty.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Greenville Cemetery in the new section, with Rev. Joe Payne officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
