Glenn C. Miller, 77, of New Madison, passed away Thursday morning, December 2, 2010 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born November 1, 1933 in Mt. Sidney, VA, son of the late Marvin C. and Virginia R. (Rimel) Miller.
Glenn was a retired farmer as well as having worked a number of years for Meador's Machine Shop and Lynch's Metal Planing both of Camden. He was a veteran of the US Army having served on the Ceremonial Honor Guard which provided military honor's for those laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery, visiting dignitaries as well as Wreath Laying Ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He was a member of the American Legion Post 140 in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife of almost 36 years, JoAnne (Snodgress) Miller whom he married December 21, 1974; daughters, Michelle (David) Homan of Kettering, Nancy A. (Joe) Ross of Greenville, and Mary A. Hicks of Centerville, IN;grandchildren, Kelsey, Joey, Rickey, Melissa, Heather, Stephanie and Autumn; and great grandchildren, Andrew, T.J., Isabella, Kiara, Nova, Isaac and Alisa.
Services will be held Monday, December 6, at 1 p.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Chaplain Candy Null officiaitng. Burial with full military honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the Miami Memorial Park near Covington.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Heartland Hospice, 3131 S. Dixie Dr. Suite 208, Dayton, OH 45439.
