James C. “Jim” Paulus, age 77, of Celina, Ohio, passed away at 6:40 A.M. on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio. Jim was born November 17, l934, to the late Francis & Tillie (Wissman) Paulus.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marge (Muhlenkamp) Paulus of Celina whom he married April 22, 1961. His children: Michelle & Victor Ten Brink of Bowling Green, Ohio; Kent & Jill Paulus of Versailles; Eric & Carmen Paulus of Versailles, Sarah & Cliff Poeppelman of Osgood; and Matt Paulus & Stuart Thompson of Benton, Kentucky. Grandchildren: Michael (Julia) Paulus; Kevin (fiancée Nicole) Paulus; Victor Ten Brink; Eric Ten Brink; Jacob, Luke, and Mitchell Paulus; and Edward and Ethan Poeppelman. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jerry & Rose Mary Paulus of Versailles.
In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Ann Paulus.
Jim was a business owner of the Versailles Furniture Mart in Versailles and the American Shoppe in Celina. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and was a member of the Moose and Eagles also in Celina. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid Notre Dame fan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to Parkinson’s Research.
