Ruthanna Virginia Butts, 91, of New Madison passed away on October 15, 2012 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. Ruthanna was born on November 10, 1920 in New Madison, Ohio to the late John B. and Marie (Eley) Falknor.
Ruthanna was a beautician and owned and operated two beauty salons during her life.
She had also worked as a beautician at the Brethren Retirement Community. Previously, Ruthanna worked as a cook in the cafeteria of the New Madison School.
She was an active member of New Madison United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Ruthanna is preceded in death by her sister, Helen Hodgin; son in law, Kenny Farmer; and a sister in law, Ruth Falknor.
Ruthanna is survived by two sons, James and Shari Butts of Sidney, Ohio and Philip and Donna Butts of Cape Coral, Florida; two daughters, Sheila and Walter Ketring of New Madison, and Gail Farmer of New Madison; nine grandchildren, Brian and Jan Ketring of New Madison, Matt and Bev Ketring of New Madison, Devin and Kirsten Ketring of Arcanum, CJ Butts of Korea, Cary Butts of Greenville, Marie Butts and Katie Butts both of Sidney, Michelle and Tim Shahan of New Madison, Chris Haddock of Boston, Massachusetts; two brothers, John Falknor, Jr. of New Madison and James Falknor of New Madison; twelve great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Braund Funeral Home in New Madison with Pastor Carol Duffield being asked to officiate. The family will receive guests prior to the funeral service from 12:30 – 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to New Madison United Methodist Church or State of the Heart Hospice with donations being accepted at the funeral home.
