Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy (McEldowney) Meyer whom he married August 12, 1972; daughter & son-in-law, Carrie Jo & William Cohoon of Michigan; son, Ty Batty of Versailles; brother & sister-in-law, David & Julie Meyer of Sidney; sisters & brothers-in-law, Patsy & Roger Stump of Tipp City and Linda Batty of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary is also preceded in death by a son, Andrew Meyer.
Gary served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Gary retired from Terra in Versailles where he was a custom applicator. Gary was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Willowdell. Gary was an avid fisherman and hunter.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Laura Shreffler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Willowdell with Military Honor’s conducted by the Versailles Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
