Lloyd F. Fritz age 84, of Union City, Ohio passed away at 12:10 P.M. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Lloyd was born August 6, 1929 in Versailles, Ohio to the late David & Clara (Schwierking) Fritz.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 58 years, Avesta (Grim) Fritz whom he married July 10, 1955; sons & daughter-in-law, Franklin Fritz of Ansonia, Ohio, Kenneth & Sherri Fritz of Winchester, Indiana and Gary S. Fritz of Modoc, Indiana; daughter, Pamela Harmeson of Union City, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters, Donald Fritz of Greenville, Ohio, Clifford & Frances Fritz of Bradford, Ohio, Carol Fritz of Piqua, Ohio, Rita Fritz of Greenville, Ohio and David Clarence & Barbara Fritz of Greenville, Ohio; sister-in-law, Judy Fritz of Greenville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd is also preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Daniel Fritz; and brothers & sisters-in-law, Edwin (Fay) Fritz, Walter Fritz, Phyllis Fritz Koetter, John (Whilma) Fritz, Robert Fritz and Donna Fritz; and sisters & brothers-in-law, Loretta (Alton) Millet and AnnaBelle (Gene) Brewer.
Lloyd served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from farming and the former New Idea Plant in Coldwater, Ohio. Lloyd was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Bob Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden in Darke County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. and Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
