Anna Lee Palmer, 81, of Arcanum, passed away on April 17, 2018 at her home.
She was born July 25, 1936 in Greenwood, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Vola and Margaret (Dick) Owens.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Palmer; her brother, Reed Owens; and her sister Betty Jo Cornett.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Billy) Pennington of Arcanum; her grandson, Sheldon (Tamara) Hoyt of Cache, Oklahoma; and her grandchildren, Elijah, Noah, and Leah Hoyt all of Cache, Oklahoma.
No public services will be held. Anna's family has entrusted Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus.

W. Eileen Longfellow (April 16, 2018)
W. Eileen Longfellow, age 87 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 5:03 PM Monday April 16, 2018 at the Village Green Health Care Center in Greenville. Eileen was born August 30, 1930 in Van Buren Township Darke County Ohio and the daughter of the late Elmer I. and Myrtle Marie (Oswalt) Baker.
She was retired from the Arcanum Butler School Food Services where she had been employed for 28 years. She was a long time resident of Butler Township, a 1948 graduate of Arcanum High School, a 28 year member of SERO (School Employee Retirees of Ohio), an avid gardener and a very active member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church of Greenville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Robert E. Baker.
Eileen is survived by her husband James A. Longfellow of Greenville. They were married February 11, 1950. Also daughters Donna J. (Chuck) Gasper of Greenville and V. Darlene (Dale) Travis of Anderson, Indiana; grandchildren Alisha Bernhardt, Shawn Travis, Denise Keller and Jenny Diehl: great grandchildren Isabella Travis, Lilyana Travis, Bennett Travis, William Travis Konner Keller, Abbie Keller, Lance Keller, Cooper Keller, Livia Diehl and Alex Diehl; sister Ellen Marie Hangen of Arcanum as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday April 22, 2018 in the Trinity Wesleyan Church 1400 East Main Street Greenville, Ohio with Pastors Rick Kavanaugh and Wes Lynch co- officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery Ft. Jefferson. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio and on Sunday 1 hour prior to the services in the church.

Elizabeth L. “Bettie” Wombold, 76, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly at University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, on April 15, 2018.
She was born on October 28, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Thomas Royal and Margaret (Duisen) McCullom.
In addition to her parents, Bettie was preceded in death by two nephews, Christopher Steuer and Ryan McCullom; great grandson, Kyler Johnson, and her daughter-in-law, Jackie (Meyers) Wombold.
Bettie worked as a manager on retail sales for many years. She was always very active and loved travel. She would take her children camping, bowling and bingo. In her youth she was an avid horse rider and would compete in barrel racing competitions. She loved talking and meeting new people and she never met a stranger. Bettie was a wonderful mother and loved her family and friends.
Bettie is survived by her children, David Wombold of Bradenton, Florida, Scott Wombold of Richmond, Indiana, Deborah (Robert) Plebanski of Brookville, Ohio, Wendy (Brent) Buckley of New Madison, Ohio, John (Heather Treadwell) Wombold of New Lebanon, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her siblings, Judith Steuer of Indianapolis, Indiana, Thomas (Carol) McCullom of Sarasota, Florida, and Margaret (Pete) Flores of Kokomo, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Jean Schmidt Thompson Longfellow, 93 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away April 17, 2018 at Brethren Retirement Community under “State of the Heart” Hospice care. She was born July 2, 1924 near Lightsville (north of Greenville, OH) the daughter of the late Cornelius Lake Schmidt and Vernie Esther (Van Scoyk) Schmidt.
She is preceded in death by: First husband, AV “Soap” Thompson; Second husband James Richard “Dick” Longfellow; Brothers: Floyd Schmidt, Charles Schmidt, Cornelius “Trappy” Schmidt, Marvin “Bob” Schmidt, and James “Bimmy” Schmidt; Sisters: Hazel Frye, Mildred Lane, Wanda Hunt, Mabel Mae Schmidt, June Bergman, Doris Nestor, and Lee Cline.

Jean graduated from Greenville High School in 1942 and worked as part of the war effort at Dayton Racquet in Arcanum, Ohio. She married Sgt. A.V. Thompson on May 8, 1943 and moved to Homestead Air Force Base in Florida where she worked for the War Food Administration as an office manager. After her beloved husband’s tragic death on July 12, 1945, Jean returned to Greenville to raise her daughter, Randa, who was born 4 months later. A widowed mother, Jean dedicated her life to being the best mother she could be, a goal everyone who knew her agrees she accomplished.
Jean worked for her brother, Floyd, at Schmidt Furniture and Appliances for many years in sales, bookkeeping, and office management.
Jean married her second husband, Richard “Dick” Longfellow on Oct. 1, 1968. She and Dick spent much of their time creating happy memories while being an integral part of their grandchildren’s lives.
She enjoyed trips to Canada to fish for big northern pike. Jean also enjoyed cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles, craft projects with her grandchildren, watching the Patriots and Buckeyes, and attending monthly high school alumni luncheons. She has been a member of the EUM Church in Greenville since 1945.
Services will be held on Saturday April 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday April 20, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne Healthcare Foundation to the ER Department because of the care she received from them during her cardiac arrest and the their treatment which gave her 21 more years to enjoy her life and family.

Keith Allen Dawson (April 16, 2018)
Keith Allen Dawson, age 77 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:05 AM Monday April 16, 2018 at the Oakley Place of Greenville. Keith was born January 1, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio and the son of the late Lonnie & Ethel (Null) Jessup Dawson.
Keith was a Veteran serving in the US Army from August 1960 until August 1963. He was also a Flight Instructor at the Darke County Airport and taught Instrument Rating.
He had been employed for 28 years at Sheller-Globe and in 1995 started Dawson’s Direct Delivery, retiring in 2007. He was also a member of the Darke County Aero Modeler’s Association (flying remote controlled airplanes), an avid bowler, golfer and loved mowing his lawn.
Keith is survived by his wife Jacqueline Lee “Jackie” (Burch) Dawson of Greenville. They recently celebrated their 54th anniversary having been married March 22, 1964. Also children Mark (Heidi) Dotson of St. Marys, Ohio, Penney L. (Lain) Smith of Beaufort, SC and Rebecca S. (Michael) Rinderle of Greenville; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. During his 15 years of retirement he took care of his extended family, all the neighborhood felines.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday April 19, 2018 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 PM until time of the services in the funeral home.

Helen Romie Council (Berger) age 89 of Greenville, formerly of Versailles passed away on Sunday April 15 after a short illness. Helen was born and raised in Fort Loramie, to Martin and Clara Belle (Barga) Romie, now deceased. Helen is preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Berger and Charles Council.
Helen was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Evelyn (John) Siegel, Harold (Ann) Romie, Mildred (Howie) Coble, Luella “Tude” (Jim) McGowan, Oscar “Whiste” (Julie) Romie, Robert Romie, Roger “Perp” (Maryann) Romie, Norbert "Skip” Romie and Lillian Romie. Also Charles’ dear cousin Roy (Juanita) Reeves.
Helen was Mom to eight children: Michael (Donna) Berger, Bonnie (Fred) Aslinger, Janet Berger, Mary Delk, Ray “Pug” (Jan) Berger, Julie (Shawn Magee) Berger, Bob Berger and Mark (Darla) Berger. Helen was Grandma to grandchildren: Dan (Christine) Berger, Sarah (Nate) Moeller, Erin (Mike) Guendelsberger, Paul Berger, Jason (Karin) Aslinger, Denis (Julie) Aslinger, Brad (Nikki) Delk, Jaime (Jason) Lavinder, Kelly (Jim) Stephens, Mindy Berger, Heather (Paul) Luebke, Casey (Kelly) Berger, Kim (Seth) Monnin, Allyson Berger, Ivy (Rueben) King and 28 great-grandchildren. Also a special step-son, Bob (Teresa) Council and their son, Kevin (Lydia) Council and their two children; sister in law, Marlene Romie; and a host of nieces and nephews from the Romie and Berger families. Helen also loved her friends Rose and Denny Saintignon and Bob and Maxine Fitzgerald.
Helen was a soft ball player as a young adult then a busy mom who liked playing accordion and cards. Later in life Helen enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and garage sales. Mom loved giving away her apple butter (especially to Dr. Bowlin) and zucchini bread (also to her great-grandchild Zooey). Mom was always heard saying “I have eight of the best kids in the world” much to the chagrin of her “kids”. We owe our sister, Janet, so much for living with and caring for Mom. Jerome E. Oliver age 83, of Versailles passed away at 7:40 PM on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Village Green Health Campus in Greenville.
Jerome was born January 28, 1935, in Versailles to the late Orlan & Dorothy (Schilling) Oliver. In addition to his parents, Jerome was also preceded in death by his grandchild, Deborah Oliver; great-grandchild, Grace Kniesly; and brother, John Oliver.
Jerome is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Pitsenbarger) Oliver whom he married August 21, 1955; children, Melinda Butts of Greenville, Doug & Zhiela Oliver of Versailles and Kevin & Michelle Oliver of Versailles; grandchildren, Carl & Kristin Butts III, Nathanael & Mandy Butts, Emily & Craig Oliver, Elizabeth & Mike Kniesly, Elijah & Ashley Oliver, Ethan & Chelsea Oliver, David & Janelle Oliver, Derek & Jennifer Oliver and Devin Oliver; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 expected; brother & sisters-in-law, Eugene & Janice Oliver of Versailles and David & Joan Oliver of Miami, Florida; sister-in-law, Martha Oliver of Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerome is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Pitsenbarger) Oliver whom he married August 21, 1955; children, Melinda Butts of Greenville, Doug & Zhiela Oliver of Versailles and Kevin & Michelle Oliver of Versailles; grandchildren, Carl & Kristin Butts III, Nathanael & Mandy Butts, Emily & Craig Oliver, Elizabeth & Mike Kniesly, Elijah & Ashley Oliver, Ethan & Chelsea Oliver, David & Janelle Oliver, Derek & Jennifer Oliver and Devin Oliver; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 expected; brother & sisters-in-law, Eugene & Janice Oliver of Versailles and David & Joan Oliver of Miami, Florida; sister-in-law, Martha Oliver of Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerome retired from Penn Central Railroad where he was a block operator. He also owned Oliver Trucking in Versailles. Jerome was a member of Ansonia First Church of God, Greenville Shuffleboard Club and was an Auxiliary Lake Patrol at Grand Lake St. Marys.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Derek Specht officiating. Doris Elson age 91, of Greenville went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
Doris was born September 24, 1926, in Eldorado, Ohio to the late Floyd & Myrtle (Beasley) Vaughn. In addition to her parents, Doris was also preceded in death by her 1st husband, John Gower; 2nd husband, Harold Elson; son-in-law, Terry Hughes; grandson, Ronnie Hughes; sisters, Freda Gower and Esther Cummings; and a brother, Hugh Vaughn.

VICTOR F. HAUBERG (April 8, 2018)
VICTOR F. HAUBERG, age 86 of 241 E. 11th St., Brookville, IN 47012 passed away Sunday April 8th at 10:07 PM, at the Wayne Hospital, Hospice Care Center in Greenville, after several years of declining health. He was born May 23rd 1931 in St. Paul MN, the son of the late Victor A. and Mabel (Fenney) Hauberg. He was a graduate of the Greenville (Ohio) High School, class of 1949. He also graduated in 1953 from Miami University with an Undergraduate Degree in Education and in 1958 with a Master’s Degree in Education. He received additional credits for advanced study at Indiana Univ., Purdue Univ., and St. Francis College of Ft. Wayne.
Mr. Hauberg was a Veteran of the US Army, having served 2 years in a heavy weapons company at Ft. Lewis, WA.
Mr. Hauberg retired in 2005 after spending 50 years in the field of education, 47 of those years in the Franklin (IN) County School System. He began his career in Brookville IN as a Civics Teacher in 1958. Shortly thereafter he was instrumental in start of the school’s guidance program and became the school’s first Counselor. During his years as the counselor he was again instrumental in the formation of the School’s National Honor Society. He himself was a NHS member while a student at Greenville HS. Mr. Hauberg also started the Boy’s Golf Program which he coached for 22 years. Additionally, he helped with the formation of the Dollars for Scholars program, as well he started and continued to sponsor the school’s Student Council Organization. He also served as a faculty chaperon for school dances, proms and other extracurricular student activities.
Mr. Hauberg’s interest in school sports was noticeable by his over 40 years working the chain gang at the football games and serving as the time keeper for cross country teams and wrestling matches. He also began serving as scorekeeper for all varsity basketball games in 1962, which continued even after his retirement. Mr. Hauberg was recipient of a state-wide award for Faculty Sportsman in 2008 as a recognition for his many years contributing to high school activities. He also received the “I STAR” award for his efforts and contributions as a teacher and educator.
Two of the many local Brookville Scholarships awarded annually to deserving students are the Victor F Hauberg Scholarship, established by others to honor him, along with the George McKinney Scholarship established by Mr. Hauberg to honor his close friend, who was also the first Superintendent he worked for upon coming to Brookville.
Supplementing his school activities Mr. Hauberg was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church and served 6 years on the church council. He was also a charter member of the Brook Hill Country Club. He served 14 years on the Franklin County Selective Service Board and 17 years on the Franklin County Library Board. He was a member of the Brookville Teachers Association having served as President of the organization. He has been a member of the Brookville Kiwanis Club since 1965 and is thought to be amongst the longest serving person in terms of continuing membership. He is also a longtime member of the Darke County (Greenville, Ohio) Historical Society. He was also a lifelong supporter of Miami University Football and Basketball programs.
Mr. Hauberg was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Beatrice in 1932, a sister Arlene Shiverdecker in 2010 and a brother Herbert Carl in 1974. He is survived by a brother Allen Hauberg of Greenville, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Delmer Eugene Hall, age 91 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 6:20 AM Monday April 9, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living of Greenville. Delmer was born March 24, 1927 in Darke County and the son of the late Russell W. and Mary E. (Koons) Hall.
He was retired as an auto mechanic from Troutwine Auto Sales of Arcanum and attended the Greenville Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marian (Black) Hall March 5, 2018 and son-in-law Ralph Bogan.

Robert L. "Bob" Bennett (April 8, 2018)
Robert L. "Bob" Bennett, 98, of Greenville, passed away early Sunday morning, on April 8, 2018, at Wayne Health Care in Greenville.
Bob was born on October 26, 1919 in Union City, Indiana, the son of the late Otto and Minnie (Reck) Bennett.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Adine (Wilson) Bennett on November 17, 2007; his daughter, Barbara Ellen; an infant son; his son, William Bennett, and 6 brothers and sisters.
Bob served his country honorably in the Army Air Corp from February 9, 1942 to May 25, 1945 and gained the rank of tech sargent. Bob was a shipping foreman at Sheller Globe in Union City and retired after 30 years of service. Bob was also a grain farmer for most of his life. He and Adine loved to travel and made many trips around the globe. Bob spent many years on the Ansonia School Board and Wayne Health Care Board. He would attend all the events for his grandchildren recording them with his VHS camcorder. He enjoyed spending time at the Whistle Stop drinking coffee and chatting with his friends.
Bob is survived by his special friend, Elizabeth Roth of Greenville; his daughter-in-law, Jett Bennett of Greenville; son and his wife, John and Phyllis Bennett of Ansonia; his grandchildren, Jodi Bennett of Greenville, Lindsay Bennett of Williamsburg, Ohio, Kim Marker of Ansonia, Kelly (Jason) Kelch of Greenville, Kristen (Trevor) Gosnell of Ansonia, Nikki (Mitch) Pearson of Eldorado; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Bob's life, with full military honors conducted by the Greenville Honor Guard, will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Tribute Funeral Home, Greenville Campus with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Burial in Beamsville Cemetery will be at a later date.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 2 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

John Jacob Shade, 95 of Lewisburg, Ohio passed away on Friday April 6, 2018 at 6:45 PM at Wood Glen Alzheimer’s Community, Dayton, Ohio. He was born February 1, 1923 in Johnsville, Montgomery County, Ohio the son of the late William & Ethel Louise (Meeks) Shade. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy SeaBees in World War II from January 26, 1945 until January 9, 1946. He was self-employed for 40 years installing aluminum and vinyl siding. He formerly was a member of the Eaton American Legion and the Twin Valley Gun Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son: William C. Shade; brothers & sisters: Freida L. (Shade) Wampler, Virgil L. Shade, Louise A. (Shade) Brock, Raymond Shade, Treva (Shade) Schindler, Virginia M. (Shade) McCray, Dorothy P. (Shade) Weaver, & Melvin Shade.
He is survived by his son: John J. Shade Jr.; 9 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

LeRoy Francis Wilson, 88, of Greenville passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10:46 AM at State of the Heart Care Center within Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio. He was born October 23, 1929 in Odell, Nebraska the son of the late Roy and Frances (McGinley) Wilson.
LeRoy graduated from Beatrice High School, attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from Peru State Teachers College. He honorably served his country in the United State Army. He worked at General Athletics and Neff Lettering and then, in retirement, he was a substitute teacher in Darke County Schools for 17 years. He was a committed member of the First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed serving as a table parent for their Logos program.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Kathryn LeNie Wilson; daughter: Lynne Conley; brothers: Woodrow and James; sisters: Virginia and Marcella.
He is survived by his children: Cynthia (Hans Soltau) Larkins of Dayton and Greg Wilson of Columbus; and his grandchildren: Nathan (Emily) MacKendrick, Nicholas Larkins, Benjamin (Brooke) Larkins, Brette (Matthew) Swider, Greta Wilson, Lauren Conley, and Amanda Conley; 6 great grandchildren:

Cinda is survived by her stepmother, Evelyn Gibson of Greenville; her children, Christine Sayre of Central, South Carolina, Kendra (Dion) Sipe of Union City, Indiana, Helen (Brad) Jessup of Gaylord, Michigan, Annette (Errin Price) Bradburn of Greenville, Kevin (Misty) Coby of Selma, Indiana, Beth (James) Henry of Union City , Indiana, and Alaina (Geff) St. Myers of Winchester, Indiana; 24 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren with one on the way; her brother, Dennis Gibson of Cincinnati, Ohio; 2 nephews and a niece.
Cinda retired from Evenflo in Piqua. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, baking and was very talented in many different ways. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren.

Joan Irene Eley, 92, of New Madison, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 30, 2018 at Village Green Health Campus in Greenville.
She was born on July 30, 1925 in Versailles, the daughter of the late Martin and Ida (McGreevey) Cashman.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Eley; her brothers, Ralph Cashman and William Cashman; and her sister, Mary Bess Houser.
Joan is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Bob) and Marian Eley of New Paris and Doug and Jane Eley of El Paso, Texas; her grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Treva Eley, Scott and Ashley Eley, Jessica and Craig Campbell, Erin and Luis Garceley; her great grandsons, Evan Eley and Dorian Eley; and several nieces, nephews, and friends she truly loved.
Joan never met a stranger that she couldn't befriend. Joan's greatest happiness was to bring joy and humor into other peoples' lives. She left a quote that says it all, "Always love each other, the way I loved all of you!"
Since her marriage in 1948, she was a faithful member of The American Legion Auxiliary post #245, and The New Madison United Methodist, where she was a member for 70 years.

Randall “Randy” Eugene Witters, 59 of New Weston, Ohio passed away on Thursday March 29, 2018 at 6:52 AM at his residence. He was born January 19, 1959 in Union City, Indiana the son of Freddie & Marjorie Joan (Deeter) Witters of New Weston, Ohio. He worked at Emerson Climate Technologies as a Testing Engineer. He was an avid bowler; he loved the outdoors and especially fishing with his family and friends; he really enjoyed spoiling his nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother: Robert Eugene Witters.

Richard H. Stentzel (March 30, 2018)
Richard H. Stentzel, age 89 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:10 AM Friday March 30, 2018 at the State of the Heart Care Center Greenville, Ohio. Richard was born September 19, 1928 in Greenville and the son of the late J. Walter and Bessie (Houser) Stentzel.
Richard formerly owned and managed the Stentzel Insurance Co. of Greenville. Later he managed the Preble County Automobile Club (AAA) of Eaton, Ohio for 25 years. Also each year during the month of May he was employed by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in various positions, the last four years as Supervisor of the Tower Suites. In 1994 Richard was elected into the Indianapolis “500” Oldtimers Club as a result of his 21 years of services at the race track and later became a Life Member of that organization. He was a former member and Past President (1957-1958) of the Greenville Lions Club and presently a member of the Eaton Lions Club. He was named a “Melvin Jones Fellow in Lionism”, the highest form of recognition awarded by the foundation and received a 50 Year Plaque for services in Lionism. Richard was also a member of the Greenville Elks Lodge, the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Greenville and a contributing member of the Hawaii Theatre Center Honolulu, Hawaii.
He was also a Veteran serving in the United States Naval Reserve receiving an Honorable Discharge July 15, 1955.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Elsie A. (Rieman) Stentzel March 4, 2016. They were married October 20, 1951. Also brothers John W. Stentzel and George Stentzel and a sister Jane Lage.

Paul E. Marchal age 94, of Versailles passed away at 11:25 AM on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Paul was born August 30, 1923, in Frenchtown to the late Leo & Emma (Treon) Marchal.

Charlotte Lee Doughty, 83, of Greenville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 26, 2018 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
She was born on February 17, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Laura (Ward) Dowler.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her Husband, Bobby Doughty, and her brother, Gary Dowler.
Charlotte is survived by her brother, Gene (Joan) Dowler of Greenville; her sister, Lois Hill of Coldwater, Michigan; and numerous nieces, nephews.
Charlotte was a very active and caring person. She devoted over 30 years to the healthcare profession as a surgical technician. She worked at Jewish Hospital and Providence Hospital in Cincinnati and Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Charlotte was a graduate of Covington High School and was active with the Order of the Eastern Star and the Shriner's. She used to ride in parades with the Shiners Mounted Patrol. Charlotte, loved nature, gardening, fishing and traveling. She was very creative and enjoyed arts and crafts projects. She was an animal lover and especially loved her dogs.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Mote Cemetery with Pastor Eric Fee officiating.

Marianna Horner (March 27, 2018)
Marianna Horner, age 92 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 3:25 PM Tuesday March 27, 2018 at the Village Green Health Care of Greenville. Marianna was born March 5, 1926 in Jackson Township Darke County, Ohio and the daughter of the late Everett and Ethel (Cash) Caupp.
She retired in 1995 from Morgan Drive Away of Elkhart, Indiana where she had worked as a driver for 18 years. Marianna was also very involved in crocheting. Since moving into the Village Green she loved playing bingo, attending their church services and participating in “Happy Hour”. She loved being with her grandchildren and she and Leo took the grandchildren on many of their travels throughout the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leo E. Horner October 20, 2008. They were married September 13, 1945. Also a grandson Brian Shafer, brothers Ray Caupp and Harvey Caupp and her sister Faye Straley.

Anita Stockton, 70, of New Madison, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 19, 2018, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
She was born on January 26, 1948 in Greenville, the daughter of the late Myron and Doris (Spencer) Thomas.
In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her brother, Darrell Thomas; and her sister and brother-in-law, Diana (Thomas) and Pat Nevin.
Anita is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 50 years, Daniel Stockton, of New Madison, whom she married August 26, 1967; her children, Dawn (Dan) Lander of Hamilton, Ohio, Jesse (Rachael) Miller of Centerville, Indiana, and Maria ( Matt Penny) Brandenburg of Bradford, Ohio; her grandchildren, Kaileigh (Kyle Beavins) Stockton, Damon Lander, Ciara Dawson, Chris Brandenburg, Jessica Brandenburg, Alexandra Lander, Daniel Lander, Bryson Hoober, and Lily Miller; her great-grandchildren, Laden, Lexten and Larsen; and several nieces and nephews.
Anita was a 1966 graduate of New Madison High School. She then pursued her childhood dream of becoming a registered nurse graduating from Miami Valley School of Nursing in 1969. Anita was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles, watching her favorite shows on television with her animals in her lap, helping her husband with his business, and sitting around the dining room table playing many sorts of games with her family and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held from 1-4 PM on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at The Stockton Residence, 143 S. Main Street, New Madison.

She retired in 1994 from Corning Glass of Greenville where she had been employed for 13 years and was a care giver for both her parents in their later years until they passed away. Juanita was a 1947 graduate of Greenville High School and loved flowers, gardening, all wildlife and trees.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Chalmer Wayne Rhoades March 2, 1967. They were married June 5, 1948. Also her sister Pauline McCullough.

Juanita is survived by her children Linda (Gene) Grilliot, Kent Rhoades and Randy (Marcia) Rhoades all of Greenville; 3 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Oak Grove Cemetery Fort Jefferson, Ohio with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to Rest Haven Nursing Home Activities Fund or the State of the Heart Hospice of Darke County.
