Naomi L. Jones, age 97 of Greenville, Ohio went to meet the Lord on Sunday January 17, 2021 at the home of her granddaughter Mary Alyson Brunson Jones in Orlando, Florida. Naomi was born March 8, 1923 in Lafayette, Alabama and the daughter of the late Columbus and Naomi (Glaze) Smith.
She worked throughout her life as a midwife and farmer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband R.J. Jones and son-in-law Alfred Eugene Brunson.
Naomi is survived by her daughter, Annie Mae Jones-Brunson; five grandchildren, Attorney Dwayne Keith (Beth) Jones, Naomi Kimberly (Gregory) Fair, Mary Alyson Brunson Jones, Norman Anthony (Jody Pruett) Brunson and Joseph Andrew (Gloria) Brunson; several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren, including her great granddaughter, Elizabeth Brunson; great great grandsons, Marcus Johnson and Corey Johnson who loved her more than anything. Naomi also had many good friends and neighbors. She not only cared for many but also was loved by many more. She will be missed and thought of but never forgotten.
A funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Ron Isom officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery Greenville, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
