Hazel M. Matthieu (April 20, 2011)

Hazel M. Matthieu age 97 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away at 4:15 P.M. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Hazel was born February 20, 1914 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late John & Iva (Fosnaugh) Rue.
Hazel formerly worked at Buckeye Overall Company in Versailles for several years. She was a member of Versailles United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Hazel is also preceded in death by her daughters, Roberta & Dorothy Matthieu; brothers, William, Basil, Robert, Richard, Lester and Gerald Rue; sister, Alma Gasson; and half brothers, Herman, Robert and John Gasson.
Hazel is survived by a sister, Golda Matthieu of Versailles and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Rick Gutheil officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Versailles United Methodist Church.
