Lois E. Snyder, age 92, a longtime resident of Greenville, Ohio went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2011 at 7:05 PM at the Brethren Retirement Medical Center where she had resided since November 2010.
She was born May 4, 1918 and raised in Jamestown, North Dakota. She was the daughter of the late Ernest A. and Emma A. (Folski) Stuart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Harr Snyder in 1980. They were married in 1943. Also by her siblings, Madalyn Castien of Whittier, CA; Evelyn Soulis of Jamestown, ND and Russell T. Stuart of Fargo, ND.
Lois is survived by her youngest sibling, LaVerne Stewart and niece Jamie Stewart both of St. George, UT and her nephew Jay Stewart of Boulder City, NV. She will be greatly missed by the over 300 children that she lovingly cared for over 47 years, their families, her close friends and her beloved cats.
Prior to her child care career, Lois worked for the Department of Agriculture in North Dakota as an auditor. She was a charter member of Christ Church and presently a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church, both of Greenville.
Lois loved the Lord, noting her favorite passage was, “Be thou faithful until death and I will give thee a crown of life.”
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday April 4, 2011 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with the Rev. Elwood Stuart officiating. Burial will follow on the Snyder family plot at the Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, Ohio. The viewing will be held on Monday April 4, 2011 from 12 noon until time of the services in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be given to the Trinity Wesleyan Church of Greenville.
