He was born September 17, 1931 in Jackson Township , Darke County , son of the late Everett S. and Ethel Marie (Cash) Caupp.. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Straley.
Ray was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He had farmed for approximately 30 years on Raper Nelson’s old farm near Coletown. He had worked for the former Nestles in Greenville , was a bus driver for the Greenville City School District, was a mechanic for Moody's Auto Sales & Lorton's Service Station, and for the last twenty years owned and operated his own auto repair shop.
He was a member of the American Legion and Eagles both in Union City .
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara J. (Montoney) Caupp, whom he married March 18, 1955; sons, Terry (Patty) Caupp of Gettysburg and Chris (Jill) Caupp of Versailles; daughters, Jeanne (Doug) Lyme of Greenville, and Tracy (Donnie) Marker of Greenville; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Harvey Caupp of Lakeland, FL; two sisters, Marianna Horner of Greenville, and Dorothy Fields of Union City, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Brent Reeder officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens .
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 11 from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the State of the Heart Hospice or the Ansonia First Church of God.
