She was born December 3, 1917 in Darke County, daughter of the late Harry and Lova (Redinbaugh) Derr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Cottrell; two sons, Tex O. Cottrell and Keith Cottrell; and two sisters, Ruby Middleton and Deveta Coons.
Lily is survived two sons, Edgar S. Cottrell of Jupiter, FL, and Otto L. Cottrell of Greenville; two daughters-in-law, Nancy Cottrell and Judy Cottrell-Gibson of Greenville; 9 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
A graveside services will be held Thursday, April 7 at 3 p.m. at the Holsapple Cemetery near New Weston, with Rev. Lowell Miller officiating.
There will be no public visitation. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the Rossburg Fire Department or the Ansonia Area Rescue.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
