He had been employed for the past 23 years with the Darke County Highway Department and had achieved his Master’s Degree of Theology.
Mike was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a SGT with the U.S. Air Force. He loved the outdoors, be it working, fishing at Lake Erie, camping or participating in many family activities.
In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by his wife Barbara (Fudge) Beard of Greenville. They were married June 24, 1972. Also daughter and son in law Michelle and Nathan Stephenson of Houston, Ohio; son and daughter in law John P. and Sarah Beard of Greenville; grandchildren Isaac Stephenson, Danielle Stephenson, Micah Stephenson and Zachariah Stephenson; sister and brother in law Marsha and Jack Baker of Greenville.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastors Augie & Jan Roestamadji co- officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard.
