Ervin William Baker, 90, formerly of Ansonia, passed away early Monday morning, May 8, 2017 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.
Ervin was born on January 2, 1927 in Darke County, OH, to the late Lewis and Bertha (Harshman) Baker.
In addition to his parents, Ervin is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Mae (Baumgardner) Baker; his grandson, Gary Carlin; sons-in-law; and several brothers and sisters.
Ervin enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards and farming. Ervin served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
Ervin is survived by his daughters, Barb Teaford, Linda (Joe) Magoto, Terri (Kevin) Schlechty, all of Greenville, and Joyce Carlin of Ridgeville, IN; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, Roy Baker of Ansonia; his sisters, Dorothy Fowble, Edna Peden, and Stella Shell, all of Greenville.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 10,2017 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Mark Gates officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery with military graveside honors provided by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 5PM to 7PM at the funeral home.
