Melissa Lajean Strosnider, 90, of New Weston, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Mercer Health in Coldwater.
Melissa was born on June 19, 1926 in Ansonia, to the late Arthur and Ethel (Yokey) Riegle.
In addition to her parents, Melissa is preceded in death by her son, Joe Strosnider, her sisters, Roxine Beasecker, and Betty Miller.
Melissa was an active member of Teegarden Congregational Christian Church and the American Legion Post # 353 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and taking pictures. She had many photo albums depicting her family and life memories.
Melissa is survived by her husband of 70 years, whom she married June 29,1947, Carlton ”Sam” Strosnider of New Weston; her daughters and son-in-law, Susan DeRegnaucourt of Ansonia, Amy (Rob) Kozak of Ansonia, Dixie Stone of Ansonia; her grandchildren, Jennifer Pryer, John Strosnider, Julie Case, Amber DeRegnaucourt, Sharon Kelly, Samantha Stone, Jennifer Stone, Keith Kozak, Kim Kozak, and Lee Kozak; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild on the way; her sister, Carol Labig of Ansonia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, May 20,2017 from 1PM to 3PM at Teegarden Congregational Christian Church.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 20,2017 at Teegarden Congregational Christian Church with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery at a later date.
