Wayne E. Ross, age 94 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 12:47 AM Thursday May 18, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living of Greenville. He was born March 22, 1923 in Palestine, Ohio and the son of the late Mac and Treva (Baker) Ross
Wayne was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Greenville V.F.W. and loved to play cards.
He was retired from the former Century Corporation of Gettysburg, where he had worked as a machinists.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife C. Joan (Wombolt) Ross August 9, 2006. Also sons in law William D. Murphy and Larry Joe Royer, brother Donald Ross and sister Mary Ellen Duncan.
Wayne is survived by his children: Thomas Eugene (Connie) Ross of Willis, Texas, Martha Jean (Jeannie) Royer of New Madison, Marcella Sue Murphy of Greenville, and Teddy Malone (Diana Kay) Ross of Orlando, Florida; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a special friend Pat Bousman.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday May 23, 2017 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio eith Pastor Doug Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to Brookdale Hospice or the Cancer Association of Darke County.
