James K. Wilson age 86, of Greenville passed away at 3:46 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. James was born in Dayton, Ohio on June 20, 1930, to the late Edwin G. & Janet B. (Buchanan) Wilson. He was a graduate of Fairborn (Bath) High School and the Ohio State University receiving a B.Sc. degree and designated a distinguished military graduate. He earned a M.B.A. degree from Miami University. He married Lois E. Groff on June 14, 1952.
James served as a captain in the U.S. Army. He was a loan interviewer for NCR Credit Union then worked 28 years for Miami Valley Production Credit Association holding positions of Preble County Representative and later Senior Vice President and Treasurer. He was an adjunct faculty member at Clark State College, a USDA contractor, and county supervisor for Farmers Home Administration. He had been a volunteer literacy tutor at Wayne Industries. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years; sons, J. Keith Wilson of Fort Collins, Colorado and Kevin J. Wilson and wife, Cynthia of Olympia, Washington; grandchildren, Erika (Paul) Brice, Krista (Donald) Eschbach, Olivia (Ian) White, Nathan (Maddie) Wilson, Anthony (Meghan) Wilson; and nine great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Terry Cavanaugh and Pastor Steve Wills officiating. Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
