Janet K. Hurd age 63 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 12:48 A.M. on Friday, July 16, 2010 at her residence. Janet was born February 18, 1947 in Darke County, Ohio, to Ruth E. (Olwine) Hoggatt of Greenville and the late Merrill G. Hoggatt.
Janet retired from Fram Corporation at 27 years of service. She was a member of the Family Prayer Center in Greenville.
In addition to her father, Janet is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lesley Sewell; grandson, Coty Gilbert; and a sister, Karen Hoggatt.
Janet is survived by her husband, Richard M. Hurd, whom she married July 5, 1984; son, Monty Sewell of New Castle, Indiana; daughters & son-in-law, Karyn & Eric Bruggeman of Minster, Kristie Gaddy & Edward Lewis II of Piqua and Sondra Hurd of Greenville; step children, Sharon (Hurd) & Thomas Ester of Greenville, Tim Hurd of Greenville, Geraldine Hurd of Greenville and Chris Harper of Scott City, Missouri; grandchildren, Stacey Brewer, Stephanie Gilbert, Lauren Burger and Trevor Lewis; great granddaughters, Madison and Kaitlyn Leimbacher; 8 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Hoggatt of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; and sisters, Barbara Campbell of Fairborn, Kitrina Styer of Kettering and Rita Hoggatt of Cambridge City, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Christopher Barhorst officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Darke County, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
