Ruby M. (Wolford) House, 95, of Greenville and formerly from New Madison, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Brethren Retirement Community. Ruby was born on October 25, 1914, daughter of the late David and Vernie (Miller) Wolford.
Ruby loved working with her husband, hand and hand everyday on their farm. She loved her baby pigs and chickens. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandkids, great-grandkids and great, great-grandkids. Ruby was a member of Castine Church of the Brethren.
In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, John House on August 25, 2006; two sisters, Wilma Wolford and Florence Rust.
Ruby is survived by two sons, Rev. Bill and Sue House of Marion, Indiana and Bob House and special friend, Rebecca Redding of Manchester, Indiana; one daughter, Janice and Lloyd Rogers of Arcanum, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great, great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 5 – 8 PM at Braund Funeral Home in New Madison. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 1:00 PM also at the funeral home with Ruby’s son, Rev. Bill House officiating. Burial will follow in the Castine Cemetery.
