Lloyd A. Ditty, 85 of Greenville, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 14, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
He was born October 9, 1924 in Greenville, son of the late Lloyd M. and Mary C. (Witters) Ditty. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi E. (Hittle) Ditty on July 1, 2009; and five brothers, Charles, Robert, Laverne, Aaron and Daniel Ditty.
Lloyd was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He was a retired farmer and had retired from Hobart in Greenville where he had worked for 25 plus years.
He is survived by his children,Shirley (Marion) Price of Rockford, OH,David (and companion, Theresa Brodrick) Ditty of Greenville, Barbara (Donald) Back of New Madison, Duane Ditty of Greenville, Donald (Cindy) Ditty of Greenville, Carol (Todd) Garland of Greenville.
Grandchildren, Kimberly Green, Scott Price, Chad Price, Jeremy Price, Lorraine Holzapel, Michael Mann, Chris Back, Angie Brinley, Jason Ditty, Shawn Ditty, Ashley Bierly, Austin Ditty, Stacy Ward, Christina Hanes, Eric Garland, Joshua Shellhaas, Dustin Garland, Zachary Garland, Donald Hoffman, and Mandy Langdon; 36 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchild.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18 at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville With the Rev. Sam Hoeflich officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Darke County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the Hollansburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2 - 5 p.m. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be given to the Dialysis Center of Darke County or the Alzhiemer's Association.
