Mary L. (Simons) Dues, age 98, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 1:10 PM at Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles, Ohio. She was born on March 2, 1918 in Frenchtown, Ohio, to the late Lawrence & Estella (Baltes) Simons.
Mary is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Gary L. & Karen Dues of Versailles, Ohio, and William “Rick” & Irene Dues of Russia, Ohio; daughter and son in law, Debbe & Casey Hasenjager of Englewood, Ohio; grandchildren, Dustin Hasenjager, Dawn Hasenjager, Brett Dues, Audra Wietholter, Mitchell Dues, Andy Dues, Erin Williams, Carrie Dues, Ryan Dues and Justin Dues; 27 great grandchildren; sisters, Gen Tobe, Luella Dues, Ruth Aselage, Verdice Brandts and Phyllis Imwalle; sisters in law, Evelyn Simons, Shirley Simons, Kate Simons and Mildred Dues Clary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William H. Dues Sr. whom she married on May 22, 1946; daughter, Linda Lou Dues; son, Michael A. Dues; siblings, Noah Simons, John Simons, Alma Pequignot and Larry Simons; brothers in law, John Pequignot, Joe Dues, Louis Aselage, Barney Imwalle, Jerry Brandts and Al Tobe.
Mary worked at Buckeye Apparel before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and was an avid Cincinnati Reds Fan. Mary enjoyed bowling, playing cards, gardening, flowers, cooking and most of all spending time with her family.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Frenchtown, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. Jim Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2-6 PM and Monday from 9-10 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
