Ruby E. (Rotroff) Kaugher, 91, of New Madison, Ohio passed away on May 10, 2016 at Rest Haven in Greenville. Ruby was born January 9, 1925 in Arcanum, Ohio to the late Charles T. and Elizabeth J. (Smith) Rotroff.
Ruby enjoyed softball, gardening and bowling during her life. She worked as a quality inspector at Corning in Greenville and AVCO. Ruby was a graduate of New Madison High School. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary LaRoy Farst Post #245, Corning Retirees and the American Flint Glass Workers Union. Ruby enjoyed spending time with her family the most.
In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, George Kaugher, whom she married in 1950; grandson Jimmy Allen; brother, Austin Rotroff; and two sisters, Alma Drew and Lucille Dohme.
Ruby is survived by three daughters, Roberta Kaugher and special friend Sheryl McClary of St. Pete, Florida, Sherry and husband Jim Allen of Valrico, Florida, and Clara Jo and husband Jim Farmer of New Madison, Ohio; grandchildren Tammie (Chris) Baker, Tom (Amy) Farmer, Sean (Becky) Allen, Beckie Allen-Rivas, Katherine (Lee) Brumbaugh, and Amy (Bryan) Strasser; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit from 10 am – 12 pm on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Braund Pope Funeral Home in New Madison. A celebration of life service will be held immediately following the visitation with Rev. Greg Hyre officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery, New Madison.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Auxiliary LaRoy Farst Post #245 in New Madison, or to the New Madison 4th of July Committee.
