Raymond J. Francis age 82, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 12:56 P.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at his residence. Raymond was born August 31, 1933 in Russia, Ohio to the late Henry A. & Irene (Barga) Francis.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Jeanie (Monnin) Francis whom he married April 17, 1998; son & daughter-in-law, Tom & Kay Francis of Versailles; daughter & son-in-law, Lisa & Kent Barga of Versailles; step-sons & step-daughters-in-law, Kevin & Michelle Partin of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Brian & Lauren Partin of Kingsport, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kyle & Jenny Francis of Versailles, Andrea & Kyle Goubeaux of Versailles and Eric Barga of Highland Heights, Kentucky; step-grandchildren, Joey, Autumn, and Cody Partin of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Sydney & Ella Partin of Kingsport, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Carter Francis, Zane Francis and Amelia Goubeaux of Versailles; brother & sister-in-law, John & Marty Francis of Greenville; sister, Rita Goubeaux of Osgood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Rita (Barga) Francis in 1993; 5 brothers and 6 sisters.
Raymond served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. Ray worked as a mechanic. Raymond was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, life member of the Covington AmVets, Golden Eagle member of the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2347 and the Versailles American Legion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown with Rev. Fr. James Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles with Military Honors conducted by the Versailles Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. A Lodge of Sorrow will be conducted by the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles at 7:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
