Patricia “Pat” (Brinkley) Garber, 78, of Greenville, passed away at Heartland of Greenville on September 12, 2010. Pat was born on May 24, 1932 in Eaton, Ohio to the late Orange J. and Hazel M. (Davis) Brinkley.
Pat was self-employed for over 51 years and also worked at the Lighthouse in Arcanum. She was a 51 year member of the Greenville VFW Auxillary. Pat enjoyed spending time with her special nieces, Caren and Connie. She also enjoyed listening to Gospel music, especially Daniel O’Donald.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Garber on August 15, 1995; a brother, Virgil Brinkley; five sisters, Glenna Melling, Geneva Jeffers, Marilyn Brinkley, Shirley Hittle and Jean Rader.
Pat is survived by two special nieces, Caren Long and Connie Taulbee; a brother-in-law, Dan Hittle; and a godson, Daniel G. Hittle, II all of Greenville as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests from 11;00 – 1:00 PM. on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Greenville Baptist Temple. A Celebration of Life service will follow also at the church with the Rev. Daniel Berdine and Rev. Eric Fee being asked to officiate. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery, Brookville, Ohio. The family requests memorial contributions be given to Greenville Heartland Activities Fund care of Rosemary Nelson or to Greenville Baptist Temple.
