Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Knick, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, age 82 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 at 9:45 PM at Heartland of Greenville. He was born on September 8, 1927 in Greenville, Ohio, to the late Halford & Esther (Evans) Knick.
Bob worked at Ansonia Lumber for 40 years. He loved his family, friends, hunting, fishing, yard work and playing cards. He was a former volunteer firefighter for Ansonia. He was a member of the United States Army as a Tech Sergeant during Post WWII.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Hart.
He is survived by his wife, Alice (Dunevant) Knick of Greenville, Ohio whom he married on September 30, 1950 at St. John Lutheran Church; son, Bruce Knick of Ansonia, Ohio; daughter, Sharon Shelley of Greenville; grandson, Brad (Shelley) Knick of Graham, Washington; granddaughter, Annessa (Jason) Rodemich of Bowling Green, Ohio; great granddaughter, Pressly Rodemich; sister, Patty Sells of Greenville, Ohio; sister in law, Leona Hale of Tampa, Florida; brother in law, Ward Dunevant; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a service held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville with Pastor Fred Herron officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
The Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will be conducting a Graveside Military Service. It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to the Ansonia Methodist Church Building Fund or State of the Heart Hospice.
