Louise was a 1942 graduate of Franklin Township High School, Darke County, where she was valedictorian of her class. She then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, graduating in 1946. While at Miami, Louise was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and was captain of the Miami University cheerleading squad.
Following college graduation, Louise worked as a teacher of Business and English, first at New Madison High School and then at Fairview High School in Dayton, Ohio. She then moved to Greenville, Ohio after meeting her future husband, and love of her life, Dr. Ray Boli at a Greenville Park Dance. They were married on June 18, 1949.
After Ray’s graduation from Medical School at Columbia University in New York, Louise and Ray lived at West Point, where Ray did his medical internship and then in Washington D.C., while he was doing his residency at Walter Reed Hospital. They returned to Greenville in 1953, to establish roots and build their family.
Louise was very active in the Greenville community and involved in a wide variety of activities and organizations, including the Medical Auxiliary, PTA, Investment Club, Elite Club, Bridge Club and YMCA to name a few. She was a faithful member of the First Congregational Church. In 1985, Louise decided to return to the work force, choosing a career to align with her passion for travel, working as a Travel Agent at Treaty Travel in Greenville for nearly 15 years.
On a personal note, Louise loved sports of all types – particularly the Miami Red Hawks for which she held season tickets for both football and basketball for many years. She, herself, was a golfer and played tennis well into her 70’s. She loved spending time with family and friends, particularly at The Coffee Pot in Greenville and was a devoted Jersey Boys fan. Louise was an enthusiastic lover of life, a wonderful wife, devoted mother and friend to many.
Louise is survived by her three daughters Mary Ann Packo of New York City, Jane and husband Joe Komasara of Columbus, Ohio and Nancy Thruston of Bellbrook, Ohio; two grandsons Gates and Hunter Thruston; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her brother Hollie William Stager and her sister Opal Maxine Lease.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 7 at 3:00 pm at the First Congregational Christian Church, 115 West Fifth Street in Greenville with Pastors Don Myers and Japheth Bear officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 30 minutes prior to the services in the church.
An after-service gathering location for family and friends will follow. It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions (in lieu of flowers) be given to the Donor's Choice.
