Jo Ann Altic, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the age of 84. She was born November 18, 1936, in Darke County to the late Joseph & Dorothy (Hathaway) Schmeth. In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Jim” Altic; and sister, Barbara Buchy.
Jo Ann was a devoted Mother and is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Joe & Yvonne Altic of St. Louis, Missouri and Jon & Melissa Altic of Dublin, Ohio. Jo Ann was a cherished grandmother to her six grandchildren: Emily, Connor, Drew, Elizabeth, Ryan and Victoria.
Jo Ann worked at American Aggregates and Greenville City School Board of Education for 17 years. She was a member of EUM Church in Greenville. In retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the elementary school and working the election polls. She collected precious Moments and played Bridge with great friends. She never missed a chance to watch her beloved Buckeyes play whether she was in the stands or on the television. She enjoyed water aerobics, taking her dog Molly, for long walks and going to the beach.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 16, from 1:00-2:30 pm. A celebration of Jo Ann’s life will take place at 2:30 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. John McRoberts officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery.
