John N. Henry (March 6, 2011)

John N. Henry age 87 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 12:45 A.M. on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Oakley House in Greenville. John was born October 20, 1923 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Norbert F. & Irene (Goubeaux) Henry.
John formerly worked at Union City Body Company in Union City for 13 ½ years and Fenton's Shoe Shop in Greenville for 30 years. John served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. John was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville; lifelong member of the Greenville American Legion for 60 years; Disabled American Veterans where he was Past Commander; and the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, John is also preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Dwight and Charles Henry; and a sister, Catherine Henry.
John is survived by his wife, Thelma V. (Miller) Henry whom he married September 2, 1950; son & daughter-in-law, Michael & Mary Henry of Dublin, Ohio; daughter & son-in-law, Kristina & Mike Hansman of Vandalia, Ohio; grandchildren, Sean Henry, Katie Henry, Emily Henry, Nick Hansman and Eric Hansman; brothers, Robert Henry of Greenville and Donald Henry of Greenville; sisters, Roberta Beasecker of Santa Barabara, California, Marlene Litten of Lady Lake, Florida, Joan Shearer of Greenville, La Jeanne Burk of Greenville and Rebecca Swiger of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville with Rev. Fr. John White celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
