Andy Howard Ridout, 67, of Greenville, passed away on January 21, 2018 at his home.
Andy was born on January 2, 1951 in New Paris, Ohio, the son of the late Howard and Dorothy (Straker) Ridout.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Ridout and his sister, Virginia Bowers.
Andy served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He had an adventurous spirit and a love for the outdoors and the beauty of nature. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. After he retired, he and Helen had the pleasure of traveling the country delivering RVs and seeing the sights along the way. Andy retired from Whirlpool after 35 years of service. Though Andy was a hard worker, he still had time for fun and family. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Andy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Helen (Mayo) Ridout, whom he married October 27, 1979; his sons and their spouses, Chad and Amy Ridout of Union City, Ohio, and Kelly and Jessica Ridout of New Paris, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Kiyla Ridout, Avalyn Ridout, Austin Sink, Tyler Sink, Kaitlyn Sink, Hunter Ridout, Owen Ridout, Brant Ridout, and Cash Ridout; his brother and his spouse, Larry and Mick Ridout of Washington; his sisters, Deb Wickham of Port Angeles, Washington, and Birdi Arbaugh of Palestine; and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life service, with full military honors being performed by the Greenville Honor Guard, will be held at 10AM on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Dennis Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, from 5pm to 7PM at the funeral home.
