James E. Hufnagle, age 85 of Bowling Green, Kentucky and a former resident and native of Greenville, Ohio passed away Thursday December 14, 2017 in Bowling Green. He was born December 3, 1932 in Greenville, Ohio and the son of the late Oscar and Mary (Byers) Hufnagle.
He was retired from construction work and was a veteran serving in the US Navy during the Korean War from April 15, 1952 until March 22, 1956.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Stubbs) Hufnagle November 29, 2002, daughter Shirley Hunt, sister Patricia High and brother Robert Hufnagle.
James is survived by daughter Judy Hellinger and son in law John Hellinger of Bowling Green, KY, daughter Sharon Hufnagle of Siler City, NC; step daughter Jackie Scott of Murrells Inlet, SC; grandchildren Brian Hellinger, Stacey Dunham, Adam Candalori, Casey Bunch and Dylan Curtis; great grandchildren Desi Barfield, Joey Barfield, Isabella Hellinger and Emma Hellinger; brothers William Hufnagle of Dayton, Joseph Hufnagle of Okeechobee, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday December 28, 2017 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 PM until time of the services in the funeral home. The Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct Full Military Honors Thursday in the funeral home.
