Barbara Jene (Snook) Drake, 83, of Lima and formerly of Greenville, passed away December 19, 2017 at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, Ohio
Barbara was born on June 20, 1934 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Harold and Dessa (Fuller) Snook.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Drake, Sr.; her son, John A. McDonald, Jr.; her daughter, Barbara Anne Kelley; her brothers Harold Snook and Larry Snook; her sister, Becky Black; and her step-daughter Sandra Jo Engle.
Barbara was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Greenville, and the Southwestern Ohio Radio Club. Barbara was a nursing assistant for many years, having worked at Briarwood Manor in Coldwater, Community Care in Portland, Indiana and eventually retiring from The Brethren Retirement Community.
Barbara is survived by her children, Denise Marie Drake of Las Vegas, Shannon Marie (Dave) Shepard of Lima, Charles William (Roxanne) Drake, Jr. of Orion, Michigan and John David Drake of Cridersville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Diane (Vaughn) Clingman of Columbus; her brother-in-law, Norman Black of Lima; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 11AM to 2PM at the funeral home.
