Eugene Bradford Wagner, age 85, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 7:05 AM at Village Green Healthcare Center, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on September 27, 1932 in Modesto, California to the late Clay & Orpha (Price) Wagner.
Gene is survived by his wife of 59 years Ruby E. (Sell) Wagner of Greenville, Ohio, whom he married on June 14, 1958; son, Paul Wagner of Bradford, Ohio, daughter and son in law, Lois & Stephen Britsch of New Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah Britsch and Rachel Britsch; brothers and sister in law, Daniel Wagner of Greenville and Joseph & Letha Wagner of Modesto, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter in law, Barb Wagner; brother, Alvin Wagner and sister in law, Thelma Jean Wagner.
Gene was a plumber for many years before retiring in 1997 from the Darke County Health Department where he worked as a plumber inspector for 17 years. He enjoyed farming, astronomy and traveling. Along with his wife they visited all 48 contiguous states.
There will be a service held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Oakland Church of the Brethren, Bradford, Ohio, with Pastor John Sgro officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Bradford, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
