Martha was born October 10, 1922 in Frenchtown to the late John & Ida (Subler) Mangen. In addition to her parents, Martha was also preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Raymond J. “Bud” Treon on November 1, 2012 whom she married June 21, 1941; grandson, Chad Went; sisters, Mary Schulze and Josephine Rarick; and brothers, Paul, Francis and Peter Mangen.
Martha is survived by her children, Phyllis & Bob Went of Piqua, Bruce & Theresa Treon of Duncan, South Carolina and Todd & Kelley Treon of Gahanna; grandchildren, Aaron Went, Beth Retterbush, Eric Treon, Matthew Treon, Megan Treon and Alex Treon; great-grandchildren, Hannah Went, Claire Went, Kara Went, Jake Treon, Abby Claire Treon, Quinten Retterbush, Tatum Retterbush and Brooke Retterbush; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Martha retired from Versailles Senior High School where she was a cook for 8 years. She also worked for Versailles Park and Maintenance for 7 years. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. Martha was a material contributor for the Trash for Cash providing playground equipment for the Park.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 26, 2018, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Jim Simons celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
