Norma I. (Schlechty) Hembree, 67, of Palestine, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on October, 17 2015 in Plant City, Florida. Norma was born on May 2, 1948 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Bobby and Mabel (Waymire) Schlechty.
Norma graduated from West Mont High School. She was a member of the Palestine Church of Christ. Norma worked as a sales associate at Walmart. She enjoyed camping, stain glass, garage sales, her garden, but mostly spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hembree.
Norma is survived by a son, Jesse Sleppy of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Jeanna (Sleppy) and husband Mike Bragg of Palestine, Ohio; grandchildren, Brandon Parrish and Tyler Bragg; brother, Duane and wife Marcia Schlechty of Palestine; sister, Roberta Clayton of Greenville; numerous step children, numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren as well as many extended family members.
A celebration of Norma's life will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Palestine Church of Christ in Palestine, Ohio with the Rev. Mike Simmons officiating. Family and friends may visit from 1 - 3 PM, also at the church. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. Betty E. (Teaford) Lindley (October 18, 2015)
Betty was a homemaker during her life. She was very involved in the American Legion Post #158 and the Union City Eagles Lodge #2709. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lindley, who passed away in 2000 and two sisters.
Betty is survived by two sons, Dan and Debra Lindley of Sheldon, Vermont and Larry Lindley of Union City, Indiana; one daughter, Judy and Scott Jett of Santa Cruz, California; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Betty M. Beard age 87, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:20 A.M. on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Heartland of Greenville. Betty was born June 19, 1928 in Greenville to the late Arthur O. & Edna (McClain) Lehman.
Betty is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Marsha & Jack Baker of Greenville; daughter-in-law, Barbara Beard of Greenville; grandchildren, Michelle & Nate Stephenson, John Paul & Sarah Beard, Jeremy & Renee Jontz and Chris Jontz; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert D. Anne Bootier, 97, originally of Saratoga Springs, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 16, 2015. Wife of Harold Lee Bootier Sr. (d. 1993) for 54 years, Anne is survived by her sisters Jean Brooks and Sally Van Orden, and brother Emmanuel “Gus” Agosta Jr. as well as her 5 children; Mary Lamb (husband Frances), Carol Leonard (husband James), Harold “Bud” Bootier Jr. (wife Karen), Karen Akers (husband Paul), and Peter Bootier. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren in addition to several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Helen O’Connell and her brothers Richard and Louis Agosta.
Harold and Anne retired to Florida in 1980 from upstate New York. In recent years Anne spent a great deal of time working with the children at Emmaus Learning Center in Greenville, Ohio, which she greatly enjoyed.
A prolific knitter, Anne never let her age slow her down, taking up painting at 93 and learning to use an iPad at 95. She faced every challenge with the attitude of “I can try” and she passed that persevering spirit on to her children.

She was born December 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Leevally) Dill. In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her first husband, William Powers; second husband, Robert Clawson; her daughter, Artalee Williams; one brother and three sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen Emrick of Union City, Ohio and Carolyn May Blakeley of Rossburg, Ohio; two grandchildren; and two sisters.

Gene was a farm hand on Kremer Farms for over 40 years. He loved old tractors and would attend all the shows he could.

Paul Richard Sharp age 75, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 5:57 A.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Victory Ridge Hospice Center at the Dayton VA Medical Center. Paul was born March 5, 1940 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Paul E. & Armella E. (Schuh) Sharp.
Paul is survived by his sons & daughter-in-law, Nathan & Veronica Sharp of Austin, Texas, Justin Knowlden of Brooklyn, New York and Christian Sharp of Greenville; grandchildren, Ilina Sharp, Jacqueline Sharp, Paul Gabriel Sharp and Paris Gibson; brother & sister-in-law, Bob & Ginny Sharp of Beavercreek; and nieces and nephews.

Paul served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Harry “Junior” Varvel age 88, of Greenville and formerly of Coldwater passed away at 10:30 P.M. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at his residence. Junior was born June 29, 1927 in Wilmington, Ohio to the late Vernon & Amanda (Butts) Varvel.
Junior is survived by his sons, Thomas Varvel of Greenville and Steve Varvel of Greenville; daughters, Connie Allread of Greenville, Sharon Adams of Union City, Ohio and Sandy Comer of Greenville; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Larry Varvel of Union City, Ohio; sister, Patty Louk of Winchester, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his 1st wife, June C. (Stephens) Varvel on June 14, 1990; 2nd wife, Effie (Fifer) Schwieterman Varvel on April 20, 2014; son, David Varvel; sons-in-law, Wayne “Red” Adams and Don Comer; great-granddaughter, Danielle Allread; brothers, William, Ralph, James, Virgil, Raymond, Newton, Melvin and Terry Varvel; and sisters, Loretta Varvel, Ruth Rench, Marie Grillot, Hazel Lewis, Betty Conrad and Barbara Melling.
Junior retired from General Motors with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Greenville Moose and Eagles.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Randy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. Amanda JoAnn Grossi, 30, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2015 at Wayne Healthcare in Greenville. Amanda was born on November 11, 1984 to Cliff Davis.
She is a 2003 graduate of Kenton High School. Amanda enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, and playing video games.

Martha was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church near North Star where she sang in the choir for 60 years. Martha was a 1938 graduate of Versailles High School. Martha was an expert gardener, loved sewing, cooking, canning and helping others. Martha loved her family and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Beverly (Olwine) Cain of Arcanum, Ohio, whom he married on January 8, 1966; daughters & sons in law, Sheila (Robert) Allen of Tipp City, Ohio, and Shelly (Duane) Byers of Arcanum, Ohio; sons and daughters in law, Tim (Jennifer) Cain of Tipp City, Ohio, and Tom (Jennifer) Cain of Greenville; grandchildren, Dustin Byers, Ashley Whiting, Marissa Cain, Bradly Byers, Zach Whiting, Madeline Cain, Ethan Cain and Nickolas Cain; sister, Charlene Perdue of Augusta, Georgia; niece, Lisa Perdue; 2 great nephews; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Marty retired from Corning after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the United States Marine Corp serving in the Vietnam War and was a lifelong member of the VFW.
There will be a service held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Joe LeMaster officiating. Burial will follow in the Newcomer Cemetery, Franklin Township with a Graveside Military Service conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

She was born August 11, 1936 in Wyandot, CO, a daughter of the late Royal and Marie (Traxler) Griffin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandchild; brothers, Royal Griffin, Jr., Eugene Griffin; sisters, Virginia Smith and Jane Harmon.
Joanne was a homemaker and a member of EUM Church in Greenville. She loved children and babysat for years.
She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Bailey whom she married on December 31, 1955; children, Kevin Bailey, Kimberly (Dale) Francis, Debra Barnhardt all of Greenville, Darrel (Wenndi) Bailey of Big Flats, NY, Douglas (Brenda) Bailey Ogden, UT; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia (Clarence) Coffman of Upper Sandusky.
