Mildred E. Wemmer (June 24, 1918 - September 10, 2009)

Mildred E Wemmer, 91, of Somerset, Indiana, formerly of Castine and Donnelsville died Thursday evening, September 10, 2009 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Mrs. Wemmer was born in Darke County on June 24, 1918, the daughter of the late Marley M. and Opal (Hofacker) McGlothin. She was a longtime Post Mistress for the village of Castine. Mildred was a former member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church and a member of the Wesleyan Church. Mrs. Wemmer was preceded in death by her first husband Lee Shelton who died in 1957 and her second husband Bill Wemmer who died in 2003. Also preceded in death by 2 brothers Duane and Lowell McGlothin and sister Lucille Oda. She is survived by her son Lowell L. Shelton and wife Glenna of Somerset, IN; Step-son William Wemmer and wife Mary of Donnelsville; stepdaughter Mary Watkins and husband William of West Manchester; grandchildren Chad Shelton, Christy Prater and husband Jeremy and Cara Taylor and husband Darrin; great grandchildren Kaylee and Colby Prater; 4 Step Grandchildren; and sister Ruthanna Frontz of Lebanon. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Family of God Ministries, Arcanum with Rev Don Avore officiating. Burial will follow in Ithaca Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday 5 - 8 PM at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum.
