Ruth K. (Rentz) Booher, one month shy of being 100, of Springfield, Ohio and formerly Dayton, Ohio & Versailles, Ohio passed away at 5:54 A.M. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Springfield Regional Medical Center after a short illness. Ruth was born March 16, 1915 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Carl W. & Ruth (Stauffer) Rentz.
Ruth is survived by nieces, Carol Jane Apple of Versailles, Ohio, Barbara Gross of Centerville, Ohio and Donaryl Rentz of Mattoon, Illinois; nephews, Steve Booher of Tipp City, Ohio, Larry Rentz of Tiffin, Ohio and Monte Rentz of Kettering, Ohio; and numerous great nieces & great nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband, Emerson M. Booher on September 7, 1993 whom she married April 14, 1945; brothers, John R. and Donald J. Rentz; and a nephew, Ken Booher.
Ruth worked for Ohio Bell for over 25 years. She owned and operated along with her late husband, Merchant Police and Dayton Electronics Alarm & Signal for over 25 years. Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles. She was a member of the Hawthorne Chapter No. 119 of Order of Eastern Star in St. Marys, Ohio where she was Past Matron and White Shrine #13 of Dayton, Ohio where she was Past High Priestess.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Robert Akins officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
