Shirley is survived by her husband, Dick Melling of Greenville whom she married on Jan. 19, 1956; children and their spouses, Richard & Rita Melling Jr. of Fairborn, Ohio, Susan & Jerry Whittaker of Greenville and Roger & Christi Melling of Versailles;
grandchildren, Shawnda Newberry, Billy (Tammy Weyant) Floyd, Angie Floyd, Lindsey Melling and Aaron Melling (Samantha Dilsaver); great grandchildren, Brandi Newberry, Olivia Melling and Sara Weyant; siblings, Bonnie & Raymond Lutz of Greenville, Jill & Tom Miller of Wisconsin and Danny Hittle of Greenville.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, Tony & Rick Hittle and sister, Mary Ann Jones.
There will be a service held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice. It is requested by the family that everyone dress casual for the visitation and service.
