Clifford Ray York, age 78 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at his home on March 27th 2021 at 2:30 am. Born January 15th, 1943 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Fred and Betty (Hyden) York. He was retired from Corning and was a Veteran of the United States Army during Vietnam. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, as friends and family will attest.
He enjoyed southern gospel music, travel, and spending time with his loved ones.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Clifford II, sister Mary (Wolfe), and brothers David, James and Troy.
He is survived by wife Jean (Sponaugle) York, children Tammy Griggs, Tim York, Scott (Heather) York, Sherry (Tom) Ellis grandchildren Marty Dean Griggs, Daniel Griggs, Erik Griggs, Aaron York, Ashley York, Andrew York, Austin York, Alexis Livingston, Amber Ellis, Blake Ellis, and Brent Ellis and numerous great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Alice Osborn, Bill (Patty) York, Sarah Dershem, Lee York, Jake (Jodi) York, and Liza (Wayne) Cox.
Visitation will be held at Zechar-Bailey Funeral Home from 5pm-7pm on March 31st. Funeral will be at Zechar-Bailey Funeral Home at 10 am on April 1st, 2021. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
