Sue Ann Poling, age 80, of Hollansburg, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at her home.
She was born on November 11, 1940, in Spartanburg, Indiana, to the late James and Wanda (Wise) Abner.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Poling; her brothers, Jim, Dale, and Bill Abner; and her son-in-law, Jeff Moorman.
Sue graduated from Westmont High School in Hollansburg. She spent many years working for FPE in New Madison until she retired. Sue loved her family and spending time with them. Sue enjoyed watching game shows, documentaries, and mysteries. She also enjoyed reading and just being in the comfort of her home. She enjoyed her beloved cats, Rylee and Alex.
Sue is survived by her children, Teresa Moorman of New Madison, Ohio, Tim (Stacey) Smith of Richmond, Indiana, and Tony Smith of Hollansburg; her grandchildren, Thomas (Natasha) Smith, and Tonisha Smith, all of Greenville, Ohio, Mariah Cramer of Richmond, and Kalana (Scott) Smith of Palestine, Ohio; her great grandchildren, James, Raiden, Lilly, Noah, Jazlynn, Braxlee, and Maverick; her siblings, Sharon (Larry) O'Dell of Hollansburg, and Merry (Duane) Arnett of Florida; her sister-in-law, Joan Abner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at Hollansburg Cemetery, where Sue will be laid to rest.
Tribute Funeral Homes will be serving Sue's family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
