David R. Lipps, age 69, of Greenville passed away at 11:54 AM on December 13, 2020, at his residence due to complications with covid.
He was born June 22, 1951 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Carl E and Sarah C (Lindsey) Lipps. In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Cheryl (Braun) Lipps, who passed in 2017; brother, Daniel E Lipps of Richmond, Indiana; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
David is survived by son, Daniel B. Lipps, of Greenville; granddaughter, Kaitlynn Lipps; sister, Kay Beth (Lon) Swihart of Lewisburg; brothers in law, Robert (Susan) Braun of Columbus, Doug Braun of Columbus; sister in law, Jodi (Jake) York of Greenville; nieces and nephews, Christina (Chad) Loveless, Janet (Brad) Ott, Mary (Kevin) Henry, Carol (Dustin) Barnes, David Meade, Terry Meade, Angel (Jeremy) Boone, Christy Jones, Nick Braun, Dustin (Shawna) York, Ashley Konz, Donovan York; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He went to Jefferson School in New Paris and was a 1969 graduate of National Trail High School. He graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1973. He was a manager at Godfather's Pizza in the 1980s and worked at Tri-Mark/ ITW Hobart Brothers from 1996 until retirement in December of 2017. He enjoyed playing softball, Reds, OSU, Bengals and serving in AWANA at church.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville with Pastor Sean Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Creek Cemetery in West Manchester, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
