Robert "Bob" L. Hunt (December 7, 2018)

Robert "Bob" L. Hunt, 70, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Miami Valley Hospital.

He was born March 17, 1948 in Union City, Indiana, to the late Russell Lester Hunt,II and Geraldine (Brenner) Birum.

Bob worked at Fram for 19 years, then continued working at Walmart for 15 years. He loved going fishing, camping, and watching WWE wrestling. He attended Heavy Metal Church of Christ in Greenville. Bob had a deep following with his Lord.

Bob is survived by his loving companion of 42 years, Gloria Hodge of Greenville; his daughters, Lila (Joseph) Martin of Corbin, Kentucky and Lillian (Rob) Caywood of Celina; his grandchildren, Seth Martin, Israel Martin, Cordell Hunt, and Gracie MaeMae Boyd; his brother; Russell L. Hunt, III of Ripley, Tennessee; his niece, Olivia Wilson; and his nephew, Rusty Hunt.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with Pastor Mike Fish officiating.

Bob’s family and friends may visit on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 12-3 PM and again from 6-8 PM also at the funeral home.

Darrell Lee Hanks Sr. (December 6, 2018)

Darrell Lee Hanks Sr., 68 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Thursday December 6, 2018 at 11:13 AM at his residence. He was born December 16, 1949 in Sweetwater, Texas the son of Christine M. (Hile) Hanks of Abilene, Texas and the late Harlond L. Hanks.

He was a paramedic from 1975 until 1989. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church; He became an Eagle Scout on July 11, 1966; he was a recipient of the Silver Beaver; was a Boy Scout Commissioner; Master of Commissioner of Science.

His father precedes him in death.

He is survived by his mother; his wife: Arlene Kittell of Greenville whom he married July 15, 2017 his sons: Darrell Lee Hanks Jr. (Crystal) of Fargo, North Dakota, Douglas Lewis & Heather Hanks of Willow Springs, Missouri, Jonathan Clay Hanks of Greenville; daughter: Marcella Colleen Hanks of Greenville; chosen daughter: Peggy Barga of Hollansburg; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother: Michael Hile of Abilene, Texas; sisters: Tina M. Hile of Phoenix, Arizona, Cherylene Drazee of Sweetwater, Texas.

Services will be held on Saturday December 15, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 7418 State Route 121, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Brian McGee officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church. Marjorie K. Hughes (December 5, 2018)

Marjorie K. Hughes age 71 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 10:08 AM Wednesday December 5, 2018 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home of Greenville. Marjorie was born November 25, 1947 in Arcanum, Ohio and the daughter of the late John Harvey and Doris (Vaughn) Elson Gower and her step-father Harold Elson.

Marjorie was a homemaker and a member of the Ansonia First Church of God. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents and step father she was preceded in death by her husband Terry A. Hughes August 22, 2007. They were married June 3, 1967. Also an infant son Ronald Hughes.

Marjorie is survived by her children Jason (Amy) Hughes and Doug (Julie) Hughes of Greenville; grandchildren Jenna Hughes, Seth Hughes, Meghan McGlothin and Andrew Frazier; great grandchildren Ben McGlothin, Addie McGlothin and Ian McGlothin; sister Carol (Bob) Fasnacht of Greenville; step brother Jim (Donna) Elson of Greenville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday December 11, 2018 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Derek Specht officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.

Buddy Lee Sink (December 1, 2018)

Buddy Lee Sink, age 77 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 3:10 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at State of the Heart Hospice Center, Greenville. Born in Piqua, Ohio on May 19, 1941 he was one of two children born to the late Cary & Mary (Pepple) Sink. Buddy worked many years at his family owned and operated store, “Sinks Market” on the north-end of Greenville; he then found a love for the game of golf, giving lessons, and becoming very well known in the golfing community. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved son Brannon Lee Sink.

Survived by his sister Linda Harter: cousin and care-taker Janet Welch: loving friends Barb & Dick Hole & the entire Hole family: previous wife Linda Sink; in which they had a wonderful life together until the tragedy of losing their only son, who was the love of their life, caused them to part ways, but remain friends: as well as many more cousins, family members, and golf buddies.

The Sink family would like to extend additional gratitude to the Hole family and Janet Welch for looking after Buddy and providing him wonderful care.

There will be no public services. Arrangements entrusted to the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Ray Emerson Eby (December 3, 2018)

Ray Emerson Eby, 96, of Greenville, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Brookdale Senior Living Center in Greenville.

He was born March 28, 1922 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Perry and Amy (Royer) Eby. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Norma Eby, in 2014; his brother, Lowell Eby; his sisters, Lois Harsh and Naomi Cain.

Ray was a 1942 graduate of Hollansburg High School. After graduation, he returned to the family farm and soon joined the Army Air Corp. After returning home from World War II, Ray started the Eby Farm Service in Glen Karn, Ohio. Ray’s love for flying continued when he purchased his first plane and begun to manage the Treaty City Airport in Greenville. In the early 1960s, he purchased the East Richmond Airport in Richmond, IN. Soon after, Ray joined Henny Penny as a company pilot. He then moved to North Carolina where he was a pilot for Holly Farms, now known as Tyson Foods, until he retired in 1984. However, Ray never really retired. He continued to fly his family around in a home-built airplane, served his community as a handyman, and enjoyed rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds. Ray enjoyed spending his down time gardening, woodworking, and fishing. Ray and his wife returned to Greenville in 2004. Ray was a faithful follower of Christ, where he was most recently a member of the Bible Fellowship Church in Greenville.

Ray is survived by his son, Dean (Chris) Eby of Greenville; his daughter Barbara (Ed) Reck of Columbus; four grandchildren, Tricia ( Brandon) Fellers of Troy, Kelly (Brian) Freed of Columbus, Robyn (Chad Kennedy) Flanery of Greenville, and Amy (Jeremy) Lloyd of Lancaster, Ohio; his great grandchildren, Alexia West, Hayley Branch, Michael Fellers, Britney Branch, Macy Fellers, Ethan Flanery, and Eli Flanery; step-great grandchildren, Lauryn Lloyd and Grace Lloyd; his sister-in-law, Nola Oler; and special friend, Nancy Cotten.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Bible Fellowship Church, 7757 Greenville-Celina Rd, Greenville, Ohio 45331 with Pastor Chris Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison, Ohio.

Ray’s family and friends may visit from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Friday at the church.

Alex Cameron Gunckle 22 of Greenville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday December 4, 2018 at 7:18 AM at his residence. He was born May 22, 1996 in Greenville, Ohio the son of Tim & Robin (Smith) Gunckle of Greenville.

He attended P.C.S.; Alex enjoyed going fishing, bowling and mostly outdoor activities.

Gene C. Young, 87, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Wayne Health Care Center.

Gene was born May 31, 1931 in Darke County, Ohio, the only child of the late Searl and Bessye (Puterbaugh) Young.

Gene is survived by his wife of 68 years, Donna (Anthony) Young, whom he married August 9, 1950; his daughters, Gayle Iaconelli of Greenville, Joyce (Mike) Buchy of Vandalia, Linda (Mike) Dohse of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Kathy (Tim) Warvel of Greenville; his grandchildren, Ilie Travis, Ian Travis, Andrea Depompei, Ben Dohse, Ryan Dohse, Chad Warvel, and Whitney Cole; and several great grandchildren.

Elizabeth Boatman Brewer (December 3, 2018)

Elizabeth Boatman Brewer was called back into the hands of the Lord from Miami Valley Hospital at 3:25 AM on Monday, December 3, 2018. She was born May 2, 1981 in Clarksville, Tennessee. She is survived by her parents, Rick & Kathy Brewer and loving sister, Dr. Mary Kathryn Brewer.

Elizabeth passed away due to complications from a sudden illness. She was a beloved woman who deeply enjoyed life, friends and family. Her life was full and she participated in many organizations associated with PCS and Darke DD.

EB will be sorely missed by her Uncle David (Kim) Brewer, Uncle Scott (Tami) Brewer, Aunt Melody (Bill) Overfield, Aunt Dottie Sue DeLeonibus and Aunt MaryAnn Robinette. Her cousins are Amy (Tom) Farmer, Jason (Amanda) Brewer, Amber (Alan) Harsh, Jeff (Julie) Overfield, Addie (Derrick) Mikesell, Chris (Mattie) Brewer, Ashley Brewer, Angie Robinette, Kevin (Lisa) Robinette, Aimee (Scott) Ford, Wendy (Tom) Englehart and Eric (Leslie) Stone. She is also survived by Great-Aunts and Great-Uncles Bill & Josephine Wilson and Dan & Beverly Wilson. She has several young family relatives. She leaves behind many special friends including Darlene Bowers, Delores Eley, and Gina McFalda.

Elizabeth was a faithful member of the Greenville First Baptist Church where she often sang solos and read bible passages aloud during services.

Esther (Petersime) Clark (November 20, 2018)

Esther (Petersime) Clark of Gettysburg passed away at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville on November 20, 2018.

Esther was born in Gettysburg March 27, 1936 to the late Ray and Bernice (Bigler) Petersime.

She graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1953 and Manchester College in 1957. She married James Clark of Brookville in 1963 in the Petersime Chapel at Manchester College. She spent the next 31 years getting to know Jim better and raising a family together until his death in 1994.

Sometimes referred to as “Mrs. Gettysburg,” Esther distinguished herself through a lifetime of service. Starting with Brethren Volunteer Service in Puerto Rico in the 50s, Esther also served with many other organizations (usually as treasurer). These include: Gettysburg Fire Department, Brethren’s Home Auxiliary, Gettysburg Village Council, Greenville Instrumental Boosters, Gettysburg Cemetery Association, and Friends of the Cardinal Center. As a lifelong member of the Oakland Church of the Brethren, Esther served as a deacon and was a dependable volunteer for church activities. Esther chose to serve even after her death by donating her body to the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University.

Esther spent most of her working years as a partner in the Petersime Incubator Company in Gettysburg. After the incubator company ceased operations in 2005, she worked as the Clerk-Treasurer for the Village of Gettysburg until her retirement in 2012.

Esther was a lover of music and encouraged her children to learn to play. She also enjoyed attending concerts and recitals and could without fail be found Sunday evenings during the summer in the Greenville Park listening to the Greenville Municipal Band.

After her own children were grown, Esther reveled in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. No child would ever visit Grandma without finding a ready hug and an ample supply of cookies.

Esther is preceded in death by James (husband), Deron (son), Marvin Petersime (brother), Ruth Carol Petersime Miller (sister) and Norman Ray Petersime (brother).

Esther is survived by a sister: Mary Anna Petersime White of Springfield; children & spouses: Scott & Kristene Clark, Brett & Patty Clark of Gettysburg, Susan (Clark) & David Stall of Lima; grandchildren: Christopher, Alex, Jessica, Bethany, Andrew, Peter, Ben, Cassandra, James, Kira; great-grandchildren: Samuel, Owen, Emily, Levi, Victor, and one more on the way.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Oakland Church of the Brethren on Saturday, December 8th at 11:00AM. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:00AM and continue until the start of the service.

John A. Neff (November 26, 2018)

John A. Neff age 74, of Greenville passed away at 8:57 PM on Monday, November 26, 2018, at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.

John was born May 5, 1944, in Union City, Indiana, to the late Joseph Paul & Virginia Mae (Corbly) Neff.

John is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Fryman) Neff whom he married October 4, 1975; and son & daughter-in-law, David & Miranda Neff of Englewood.

John was a police officer for Greenville City Police Department for 8 years and retired in 2006 from Union City Police Department Union City, Ohio, with 15 years of service. John was also an antique dealer for many years. He was a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren, National Historical Print Collectors Society, Antique Paper Conservation & Restoration, Darke County Genealogical Society and Miami County Genealogical Society.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Greenville Church of the Brethren 421 Central Ave. Greenville with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church. Delbert W. Riegle (November 25, 2018)

Delbert W. Riegle, age 94 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 6:40 PM Sunday November 25, 2018 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Delbert was born October 9, 1924 in Darke County Ohio and the son of the late Earl D. and Mertie L. (Williamson) Riegle.

He had retired in 1989 from the Dayton Power & Light Company where he had been employed for 34 years as a Lineman. Also he had farmed for 32 years in the Washington Township area.

Delbert was a Veteran of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Army and a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church of Greenville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Brothers Lawrence “L.D.” Riegle and Glen Riegle and Sisters Mary Burke, Bernice Gordon and Aileen Hughs.

Delbert is survived by his wife Lavona E. (Overholser) Riegle of Greenville. They were married February 14, 1948. Also children Daniel D. (Teresa) Riegle of Mattoon, Illinois, Susan E. Riegle of Greenville and Lori J. (Christopher) Delk of St. Louis, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday December 1, 2018 in the Trinity Wesleyan Church 1400 East Main Street Greenville, Ohio with Pastors Rick Kavanaugh and Wes Lynch co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery where Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio and on Saturday 1 hour prior to the services in the church.

Betty L. Wogoman (November 24, 2018)

Betty L. Wogoman, 95, of Greenville, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville.

She was born on December 29, 1922 in Arcanum, to the late Carl and Alene (Eubank) Williams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Wogoman in 1986; and her sister, Vesta Ruth Cannon.

Betty was a very active member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church and took an active role in spreading the word of God. She was always willing to share her love of God with those in nursing homes. She loved spending time with the residents, reading to them, giving them gifts, and visiting with them. She was an activity coordinator at Gades Nursing Home. Betty retired from Hobart Brothers in Troy, Ohio in 1985. Betty loved her family and enjoyed family get-togethers.

Betty is survived by her children, Sharon McDonald of Elmira, New York; Kerry Wogoman of Greenville; Karen Shaw of West Milton, Ohio; and Byron Wogoman, Sr. of Greenville; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren; her brother, Carl Williams, Jr. of Arcanum; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Betty's life will be held at 3 PM on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Tribute Funeral Homes, 1000 N. Broadway Street, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Doug Klinsing officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery.

Eileen L. Rahm, 95 of Versailles, Ohio passed away on Saturday November 24, 2018 at 2:15 PM at the Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles, Ohio. She was born February 25, 1923 in Bradford, Ohio the daughter of the late Israel W. & Martha (Wise) Deeter.

She was a homemaker; a member Webster United Methodist Church; Wayne Grange; she served as the secretary for the church and Wayne Grange for many years; she was a volunteer at the Versailles Health Care Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Charles Robert Rahm on September 15, 2011 whom she married June 25, 1948; her son: Michael Rahm; brother: Arthur Deeter; sisters: Gertrude Deeter, & Luella Sinsabaugh; Sister in law & brother in law: Waldo & Beulah Fine.

She is survived by her sons & daughter in law: James Rahm of Versailles, John & Mary Rahm of Versailles; grandchildren: Aloysius & Melissa Rahm of Versailles, Jason Rahm of Denver, Co., Jessica & Eric Nawroth of Brookville; great grandchildren: Keira, Zachary, Naomi, & Samuel, Brooklynn, Chase, & Lexi; nephews & spouses: David & Cheryl Fine of Arcanum, Larry & Pam Sinsabaugh of Virginia; nieces & spouses: Diane & Cliff Sickles of Michigan, Deb & Tom Wilson of Missouri, Bernie & Dale Roller of Kansas; numerous great nieces & nephews.

Tyrone S. Wolter (November 4th, 2018)

Tyrone S. Wolter, age 77 of Houston, Texas and formerly of Greenville, Ohio passed away on November 4th, 2018, after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Ty was born on June 15th, 1941 in Greenville, Ohio to Merle and William Wolter.

He was a 1959 graduate of Ansonia High School, and a graduate of Miami Jacobs Business College where he earned degrees in business and accounting. Ty had a very successful career as a C.P.A. and real estate broker for over forty years in Houston, Texas. Ty was a tireless worker who would do anything for his friends and clients. Ty grew up playing football and loved all sports. He grew to love hunting and anything outdoors as well. Ty loved to travel extensively and would tell you how blessed he was to get to see places some of us just dream about. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Ty is survived by his son, Steven Wolter, of Houston, Texas; brother Ron Wolters and wife Jean of Greenville, Ohio; nephew Bill Wolters and wife Debbie of Memphis, Tennessee; niece Pam Dickerson and husband Thom of Dayton, Ohio.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at M.D Anderson, Kindred Hospice, and Humana at home in Houston, Texas.

James Richard Kelch (November 17, 2018)

James Richard Kelch age 62, passed away at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Jim was born in Hamilton County, Ohio, on September 8, 1956. He was the son of the late Richard J. Kelch and Marjorie Miller Kelch.

Jim was a graduate of Versailles High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1979 from the Defiance College and a master’s Degree in educational leadership from Wright State University in 1990.

A teacher in Preble County, Mr. Kelch taught most of those years in 8th grade American History which he held a minor Degree. During his teaching career he planned and execute over 15 trips for his students to our nation’s Capital and Williamsburg, Virginia.

Mr. Kelch was honored with numerous listings in “Who’s Who of American Classroom Teacher”. He received the outstanding teacher of the year in 1984.

Jim served on numerous committees and Boards during his life. A member of the Darke County Board of Tourism for two terms.

Jim served as a former member of the Darke County Civic Theatre as its President for several years while directing several Productions. Jim also found a spot telling the tales of old Darke County through DCCA’s Ghost Walks. But Jim felt most comfortable at home, in Versailles and performing, Directing, and serving as a Board Member for Towne & Country Players. Jim was fortunate to have been cast in their production of the “Fantastics” and traveled with the cast to perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland.

Jim has also served on The Friends of Darke County Parks, often dressing as characters of our past in the living history activities in the log house; also serving on the Versailles Alumni Board and was also a founding member of the Versailles Area Historical Society and volunteered at the Museum. His last endeavor was to help plan the Versailles Bicentennial celebration.

Jim, as a descendent of the St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Congregation at Webster, proudly served as a Trustee to assure her preservation of the historic log church for new generations.

Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Versailles. There he served on numerous committees including Council and was Minister of Music, serving as Choir Director for many years.

Jim married the love of his life, the former Karen Kirchenbauer of Van Wert County on August 18, 1979 and who survives. Other survivors include their two children and their spouses, Kathryn Elizabeth Kelch Vulgamore (Byron) of Carmel, Indiana and Nicholas A. Kelch, (Amber Francis) of Greenville. Also surviving are four Grandchildren, Victoria Benedetto, of Muncie, Indiana, Hannah and Eli Vulgamore of Carmel, Indiana, and Isabella Kelch of Greenville, Ohio. Sister and brother-in-law Laurie and David Bladen, and two nieces and a nephew. Jim was proceeded in death by his parents, sister, Marilyn Louise Kelch, Grandparents and a host of Aunts and Uncles.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 1, 2018, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles with a Service of Remembrance to follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Mick Althouser officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery on the family plot at the convenience of the family.

Sherry Jo (Dapore) Parker (November 21, 2018)

Sherry Jo (Dapore) Parker, 59 of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at 9:05 PM at Kindred Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. She was born July 23, 1959 in Greenville, Ohio the daughter of Joe Dapore of Greenville and the late Sharon (Thornburg) Dapore and step mother Jackie Dapore of Greenville. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; she was also a Ham Radio Operator her call sign being W8JO; she was an avid fisherman and loved camping.

She is preceded in death by her mother.

She is survived by her father and step mother; her husband: Brian Keith Parker of Arcanum; her sons & daughter in law: Charles Govey of Huber Heights, & Scott & Tina Govey of Arcanum; grandson: Andrew Govey; sister & brother in law: Lori & Donnie Jones of Dayton; brother & sister in law: Kevon & Brenda Dapore of Dayton; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday November 28, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 233 West Third Street, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Fr. John White Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Mary (Baumgardner) Whittington, 81, of Greenville, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the State of the Heart Care Center in Greenville.

She was born on February 12, 1937 in Greenville to the late Melvin and Geraldine (Gunckle) Baumgardner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Klosterman, Sr. in 1980 and Joe Whittington in 2015; her son-in-law, Kenny Peace; her brother, John Baumgardner; her sisters, Virginia Baker and Lucille (Boots) Breaden.

Mary is survived by her children, Debbie Hammontree of Ansonia, Jill Newman of Greenville , Jann Peace of Ansonia, Mike (Sharie) Hammontree of Ansonia, Cheryl (Allen) Keaser of Greenville, Bob (Chris) Klosterman of Greenville, Jo Carole (Ron) Rucker of Ansonia; her grandchildren, Jeremy Hammontree, Nikole Baldridge, Eric (Angela) Newman, Brittni (Borrao) Newman, Delphus Peace, Alex Peace, Zachary (Sophie) Hammontree, Janae Hammontree, Jaimie (Cody) Anderson, Lindsay Fraley, Nicholas Fraley, Mason Klosterman, Allen Klosterman, Holly Abel; her numerous great grandchildren; her sister, Kay Camacho of Versailles; her brother, Ron (Margaret) Baumgardner of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Mary's life will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus with Pastor Mark A. Gates officiating. Burial will be at the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

Ruth (Sleppy) Aleshire (November 13, 1927)

Ruth (Sleppy) Aleshire, 91, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Village Green where she had been a resident for five years. She was born November 13, 1927 to the late Delbert Sr. & Myrtle Lee of Arcanum. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Delbert Lee Jr, son Robert (Gene) Sleppy, and the father of her children Robert Sleppy, Sr.

Surviving are her children, Ed and Becky Sleppy of New Madison, Joell and Ernie Rodriguez of Seattle, Washington, and Joe and Tina Sleppy of La Porte, Indiana, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews, and cousins.

She was employed at Fram Corporation, Houstons Restaurant and Suttons Grocery in Arcanum. Ruth attended Faith United Methodist Church in Arcanum for many years.

Services will be held at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Her children will receive family and friends one hour prior to service. Burial to follow in Castine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s research.

Robert L. “Bob” Condon (November 20, 2018)

Robert L. “Bob” Condon age 71, of Versailles passed away at 5:35 PM on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.

Bob was born December 18, 1946, in Greenville to the late Russell E. & Margaret M. (Baltes) Condon. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, James C. & Fredrick D. Condon; and sister, Maria Condon.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Rebecca “Becky” (Monnin) Condon whom he married on April 20, 1968; children, Tina & Kevin Wibbeler of Zanesville, Matthew & Annelies Condon of Lewis Center, and Mandy Gawelek-Gross & Kevin Gross of Centerville; grandchildren, Maggie Wibbeler, Emily Wibbeler, Thomas Wibbeler, Kees Condon, Kasper Condon, Frits Condon, Henry Gawelek, Leo Gawelek and Poppy Gawelek-Gross; great-granddaughter, Lucy Wibbeler-Robison; brother & sister-in-law, Dick & Angela Condon of Russia; sister & brother-in-law, Marcie & Chuck Meiring of Houston; sisters-in-law, Jenny Condon of Versailles and Roberta Condon of Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob graduated from Versailles High School as a proud member of the Class of 1965. He attended Western Kentucky University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Education from Wright State University.

His passion was to serve others, and that theme was woven throughout his professional activities in education, government, and athletics. His career in education began in the Fairlawn school systems where he served as a teacher and Principal. It continued in New Knoxville where he served as the High School Principal from 1975-1979 and culminated in 2001 when he retired from St. Henry High School, having served as Principal for 22 years. Bob proudly served on the Northwest District Athletic Board for the Ohio High School Athletic Association from 1985-2001. He was President of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Board of Control for two years, and he enjoyed being a member of numerous Educational Associations as well. He served as Mayor of New Knoxville for multiple terms. Bob enjoyed the privilege of shaping the lives of others, and even after retirement, maintained strong connections with many of his former students and colleagues.

Carrying out the Baltes family passion for music, Bob owned and operated RLC Music Memories where he enjoyed DJ’ing at weddings and parties for family and former students. Bob kept busy managing several rental properties. His lifetime passion for playing cards began as a young man at the Pool Hall in Versailles, and most recently, he could be found playing a hand while sharing stories over coffee with his good friends at E & R’s in Yorkshire. The hobby closest to his heart was to keep a fond eye on his nine grandkids and one great grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 26, 2018, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Jim Duell celebrant. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Shelba J. Fitzgerald (November 16, 2018)

Shelba J. Fitzgerald, age 71 of Greenville, Ohio passed away suddenly at her home, on Friday November 16, 2018. She was born August 3, 1947 in Greenville, to the late Marlin Buckingham & Ruth Anderson (Fern). Shelba worked for over 30 years at the Brethren Retirement Community as a Dietary Aide. She loved playing online games, and watching the Cincinnati Reds play baseball. She will be truly missed. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband Charles Fitzgerald: sister Joy Grody.

Survived by sons Brad Rismiller; Shawn & Matthew Visnick: grandchildren Keanua Rismiller; Kieysha Rismiller; Shawnee Rismiller: sister Brenda Miller: as well as many more family members and friends.
