Mr. James Elder “Jim” Magoteaux, 70 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on May 7, 2010 at his residence. He was born on October 24, 1939 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Elder C. & E. Irene (Anthony) Magoteaux.
Jim worked as an Aircraft Mechanic for Braniff Airways. He was a member of the United States Air Force and Bible Fellowship Church in Greenville, Ohio. He loved working and camping.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Reck.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (Frazier) Magoteaux of Greenville, Ohio whom he married on February 14, 1977; daughters, Cynthia Izzo of Kissimmee, Florida and Cyndy Bowers of Greenville; grandchildren, Robert Izzo, Jennifer Ferguson, C.J. Izzo all of Florida, Curtis Roush, John Bowers, both of Greenville, Ronnie Bowers of Rossburg, Ohio and Gordon Bowers of Piqua, Ohio; 4 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law, John and Susan Magoteaux of Greenville, and Ron and Carol Magoteaux of Dayton, Ohio; sisters and brothers in law, Evelyn Heindl of Pitsburg, Ohio, Patricia and Marion Johnson of Greenville, and Jane and Ted Dryzyga of Stanford, Connecticut; sisters in law, Susan and Thomas Welch of Longview, Texas and Rebecca Andreottola and her daughter Gabriella of Corsicana, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Bible Fellowship Church, 7757 Greenville Celina Rd., Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Chris Cobb and Pastor Robb Kensinger co-officiating. There will be a gathering from 1-2 on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home.
